Hard to say, but the hiring update on the UAL Flight Ops page says:

"Hiring Update
February 2014

Pilot hiring continues, although at a bit of a reduced rate by comparison to the forecast in the last update. Due to the need to increase training capacity for Captains in the first half of 2014, we are presently hiring approximately 40-50 new pilots per month and plan to continue this pace in the second quarter of the year

Because our hiring has been slower than anticipated, our pool of successful candidates is larger than we'd like and we intend to draw this pool down to a more reasonable number before resuming interviews. At the moment, we expect to resume pilot interviews three days per week in the month of April."

But hey, the Chief Pilot probably knows more than I. I can only go off what the official word is. Thinking out loud, November seems like a major stretch to me.

I agree with Hilltopper here. The retirements didn't all of the sudden come to a halt. The upgrades were long overdue and it is less expensive to pay FO's this summer at senior manning pay than Captains like last summer.

Just my 2 cents.

I wish/hope you guys are correct but multiple inside sources are now all saying they same thing as T38.....looks like anyone who interviewed after Mid-October will not see training until September. No interviews until Fall.

Will be interesting to see what they tell all the folks who get in line down at WIA next week.

Good thing I have big feet ....helping me tread water.

Don't even have to stand in line to hear the plans. They will give several briefs a day with q&a session. I'll let yall know what I find out.

I have a buddy in new hire training and he told me the other day that they plan to have small classes comprised of furlough returnees and new hires throughout the summer. He said that one of his instructors was just told that less than a week ago. We'll see???

This is true. However, new INTERVIEWS will not resume for some time apparently due to the volume of poolies.

This is probably the most repeated saying here.... 2008-2014, same story different day....maybe 2015 won't be so bad
