The junior 737 F/O in DEN is #11,832. That's pretty junior.
It shouldn't take too long with the retirements causing movement right now.
I think hiring will slow down since the 737 school in IAH is operating beyond capacity. They can't keep up with the upgrades and transition training due to lack of simulators and instructors.

Age in one's Basic Indoc class determines seniority (from oldest to youngest). SSN in one's interview week determines order for being offered a BI class date (lowest last 4 of SSN to highest). In some cases, the difference b/t a low and high SSN can lead to a month difference in start date depending on other factors (class capacity, number of furlough returns vs. new hires, etc). For more info, this is also discussed on page 59 in this thread.

the 757s are being parked and that is all the DEN 76t base has, there is no 767 flying. That base WILL be closed this year or in 2015 because no 757s will be left except for international PS and a handful of ETOPS for Hawaii from the west coast.
Those DEN 757 pilots are not going to leave DEN, take a look at the last several bids very few DEN pilots bid out but several bid the 737 in DEN.
There are a ton of new hires looking to get to DEN, its going to be a long wait.

The general opinion from the guys I've talked to that want to hold DEN is that it's going to be a long time. See above.
As far as the training capacity, not only is IAH running at max capacity they've also rented out all of PanAm's sim time in MIA plus another 737 sim from Boeing (also in MIA).
Lot of Guppy growth however in DEN and SFO. CP update recently spelled out how they were going to grow those bases with flying from IAH, I don't remember the details. Also since the 757/767 pay the same as the bigger 737's (minus the 764), I'd agree with the above that those DEN guys getting displaced will move to the 73. Talked with a Captain I was flying with the other day about this very topic, he's staying on the Gup until he can hold wide body since the pay isn't worth the QOL sacrifice. It would seem all the open 76T spots in EWR support this logic, but then again this is pure uneducated opinion based on nothing more than conjecture and cockpit pillow talk in cruise with Captains.
Another surprise is look at the latest award bid for Guppy captains in EWR, there is a flood of United guys headed in.

Thats bad intel. The junior pilot in DEN is actually 11,314. that is not even close to a new hire, first new hire is 11,550. The guy you stated is a special circumstance he never completed training yet was awarded DEN and is not gaining longevity.

One point you are missing....the 757's are being replaced by 737-900's. Won't DEN just grow the 737 fleet to compensate for the lost 757's?
With the retirement schedule, I still think there will be openings (unless they downsize DEN).
