I interviewed the week of 30 Sep & was told early Feb, but still nothing.

"The remainder of February looks to be much slower paced than previous months as we are training many of our current seniority list pilots on newly bid equipment in the first quarter of 2014."
And so a mid to late January start now becomes March. A wise man once told me to "get a number asap" [at any Major]. I'm quickly learning what he meant. That said, still very happy to be in the pool seemingly on the leading edge of the wave.... Um... I hope.

I'm not following your logic about feeling like your losing seniority. The way I see it, you basically have your seniority number, just not officially. The pool is first in, first out, in order. Its not like people who interviewed after you are getting called out of the pool ahead of you, unless of course you're bypassing. So if your class is Jan or Mar, your number will roughly be the same. All the returning furloughees have seniority numbers. So having said that...can I have your class date!

Thanks for the comments and perspective. My sentiment clearly didn't translate well. To clarify, I'm damn thankful to have the opportunity, and realize that my relative seniority number will remain the same after the lull for new hires. The point I was trying to make is that it seems very prudent to get started asap because one never knows what may happen in this industry from one week/month to the next. Due to the emerging requirement to prioritize 73 captain training, new hire class dates (and income to pay bills) continue sliding to the right. Meanwhile, a couple of my buddies are already through IOE because they "got their number" a bit sooner than you and I will. No worries, I remain very happy to be here and look forward to Indoc - Denver will be warmer in March anyway. And besides, I get to hang out with my kids a lot while I wait, which hasn't happened in years (I "retired" in October). Thanks again and best of luck.

I finally got the call today. Feb. 11th class date. Class will consist of 4 (I think all are new hires) and we could expect the 737 EWR. I interviewed on the Sept. 24th.
It's exactly what the last pool update said as far as timing.
