FWIW, he did say entire class can expect 73/EWR.

Got the CV call for 3 Dec class this afternoon. I won't be much help to any of you Sept folks trying to figure out break points. I'm an anomaly who interviewed months ago and have been deferring class until my availability.
FWIW, he did say entire class can expect 73/EWR.

When things were moving quickly at UAL in 2000/2001, SFO and ORD were very junior bases and the most common given to newhires. IAD and LAX were the next easiest to get. DEN and NYC (no EWR at that time) were more senior but some newhires were able to get DEN in certain equipment. MIA (now closed) and SEA were very senior and you wouldn't have an opportunity to bid for any equipment at those bases for at least a couple of years.
It's going to take a bit of time for things to settle down, but IF you're interested in Guam, I'd be willing to bet that they'd give you that base immediately in training if you ask prior to assignments. With the amount of hiring required, you should be able to get something that's workable in a reasonable time after getting on the line.
As long as you're not in one of the last newhire classes prior to summer, you should be able to move fairly quickly from EWR. I anticipate that they'll reduce classes to near zero in the summer based on the past.

As long as you're on the 737, IAH should be easy to get on the first bid you're eligible for. As the dust starts settling, SFO will likely go very junior due to the cost of living there.

How about DEN737? Seems like there are more and more 73's at the gate there and less and less 320.

At the ORD job fair on 25 October, Charlie specifically stated their drug testing program would eliminate those new hires who thought they'd be domiciled out of Denver anytime soon.
