Does anyone have an estimate as to how many furloghed pilots are planning on returning in Dec? I'm guessing that not many will return due to the holidays.

I Received an email from CV stating the following:

'If you interviewed in September and have not yet been contacted, mid September interviews may see early December dates. Late September interviews are likely to see January class dates.

October interviews will definately be looking at January class dates.'

Only about 50 furloughed are returning to active service so it can't be that many.

Word on the street is that the drop for the next class starting 29 Oct is a mix of 737, 757 and A320, EWR and JFK.

I was told by a PI on the Airbus in DEN when I was there for my PC this week that they have November "new hires" scheduled for transition training. I have no idea where they will be based, but most of the bases have vacancies on the Airbus.

757 will probably go to bottom of class. There will be more movement and more opportunities to move bases on the Guppy or Airbus. Many classes have the 757 all go to the bottom of the class.

If you want to eventually be based in LAX, SFO, DEN, ORD, or IAD don't bid the 757 as a new hire. Those bases will probably take a while to get there. Bid Guppy or Bus and you could have had a few of these bases on the last bid. Most Airbus bases went unfilled for FO.
