He or she forgot to mention that their dad is a 747 CA or that their looks fulfill that special quota. Move along, nothing to see here. You're going to have to service the soup lines for a few more years.

I would concentrate on getting your degree - it may stonewall your career progression until you do.

Recommendations are the one area you have the ability to separate yourself from your peers in a compressed time frame. You're all flying part 121 turbine airplanes, you're going to upgrade when you upgrade, you've got your degree or not... add all those points up and do you make the interview cut this month or not? No? What can you do beyond fly your line and add another 100 hours to your totals next month? Can you become a chief pilot of check airman? Probably not. Can you get a LOR? Probably so. Internal are better than external, but external count too.

It took me three years to get an invite. I haven't heard of anyone getting the call the same day, but theoretically its possible. Most people I've talked with had their apps in for more than 6 months. Application longevity and frequent updates appear to add points. Total time varies. A lot. 7000 seems average. Make sure everything they ask for on the app is filled out. If there is a box you haven't checked, do something to fill it if at all possible.

For those of you who just got CJOs...what was the earliest interview you could get after passing the hogan? A couple of weeks or a month or longer? With the new format of interviews about how long did it take for you to prepare (I've already done ECIC so that would help). And lastly how long is the pool right now? Reading back in this forum it seems it used to be very short wait...like a month max...so I am just wondering if it is increasing at all. Thanks!

Feb Flight Ops Update

Airbus concentration
Over time, more and more of our Airbus flying is being concentrated to just four hubs - ORD, DEN, IAH and SFO. As a result of this concentration, we will continue to review the impact this may have on staffing levels in the Airbus categories at our other bases.

From latest vacancy bid, looks like the review is complete. None for DCA, EWR or LAX.
