Running through the terminal, screaming at the top of his lungs?

Bragging, or did it just come up normally in a conversation?

I haven't seen a recent app, but I find it hard to believe that there is a "sexual orientation" box. So I can't imagine how that would get someone hired or not?

Have calls gone out for January classes yet?

I've been doing a bunch of reading through the threads and found most of the info I was looking for about life as a new-hire at UAL except holidays. About how much seniority does one have to have to hold a Thanksgiving/Christmas off in a junior base/equip? Not expecting it for a while... just curious.

I think a lot depends on the luck of the draw. Hired in July, on the line for two months now, a buddy in my class got Thanksgiving off. I had long call, but didn't get used, so I was home. Both of us have a line for Dec, but only because senior guys bid reserve. Seems like a lot of us have off the beginning of the month. I have 11 days off, but work pretty much the rest of the month. Everything depends on if you want reserve or a line. From what I've seen this holiday season though, they fatten up reserve to cover sick calls and the like.

Thanks PA. That's really good. I was thinking it would be a lot longer than that.

Just to add on to what was already said, because we have PBS anything is possible. The moral of the story is always bid for what you want, not what you think you can hold. You never know what the people in front of you will do, and how PBS will compensate for what they've bid for. Anything is possible.

There are some pilots that purposely bid to work some holidays if they dont have kids or family where they live. Of course, there are also some pilots that will bid to work the first half of Dec, and will create a situation where a more junior pilot will work the last half of Dec with maybe one day off between trips.

Good luck
