They don't fill the classes 30 days out. They CAN NOT put newhires in the classes until less than 30 days out. That is the maximum. There is no minimum notification time. Notifications are typically three to four weeks before the class date.

FWIW I got emailed for a class 32 days out. May not be the norm though.

My understanding is that we're grouped by the week we interviewed, and then placed in class according to the last 4 of our ssn, low to high. Assuming that's correct, what you said about your friend's ssn starting with 0 makes perfect sense to me.
8/28/15 interview, 9/4/15 CJO. Last 4 of my ssn starts with a 9. Hoping to make the cut for the 10 November class...

Did your friend get his CJO on 4 September?
My understanding is that we're grouped by the week we interviewed, and then placed in class according to the last 4 of our ssn, low to high. Assuming that's correct, what you said about your friend's ssn starting with 0 makes perfect sense to me.
8/28/15 interview, 9/4/15 CJO. Last 4 of my ssn starts with a 9. Hoping to make the cut for the 10 November class...
