Guys- I had 3 tickets in 17 years that I reported on my app when I was hired. 2 of which did not show up anywhere. When asked about them at the interview, I took ownership of them and accepted responsibility, and what I'd learned. It was a total non-issue.

UA is not looking for perfect people, but they are looking for honest people. Tickets are only a problem if the number and timing suggest a trend that could represent other issues or personality traits.

Good morning!
I just have a question for you folks out in the pool at United. What experience are most people getting hired with and is 1 internal recommendation enough? or having more gets u a better chance to interview?
Also, are the hours published on their website just there as minimums and most getting hired are well above that? or will people who just meet those minimum requirements also have a chance as of now?
I ask since I have 1480 total time, with about 1100 hours of multi turbine time flying the ATR 42-500 efis/turboprop time flying right seat. So I was wondering that as soon as I hit the next 20 hours, to meet the 1500 total time requirement, I definitely will put in my app, but not sure if it would even get me a chance. Of course doesnt hurt to apply, but any thoughts? Thanks in advance everyone! Best regards.

BUT....also be realistic and realize that this is the beginning of the hiring cycle and UAL can, and will, be very selective. Those called so far generally have qualifications far beyond the minimums.
One internal recommendation can be enough if it's from the right person and gets into the hands of the other right people, but generally more is better. Also recommendations all don't have to be internal. Strong letters from your fellow crew members and supervisors can also add weight to your application.

Msg to poolies essentially said all who were interviewed and offered jobs in June have been assigned a class and many who interviewed first week of Aug have been offered classes too. I don't know how many were interviewed/selected in subsequent weeks of Aug but can't imagine it was a huge number. Said once post-SLI recall numbers are determined, poolies will be offered unfilled furlough return class seats with as little as two weeks notice in Oct initially and then perhaps a bit longer as that process evolves.

Why is it if your an actual poolie, that you are not in class yet? Why would a random applicant get an interview/job offer before a person in the pool? How many poolies are there?
