Starting class Dec2nd. Trying to figure out the advantages/disadvantages of 737 vs. airbus in Ewr. Want to get off reserve the quickest. 737 trips look better but airbus cockpit looks like a nicer place to spend your day. Any info would be appreciated.

no question about it....Go Fifi. I have no idea about reserve times and whatnot, but far more comfortable cockpit...I mean flight deck.

So now we are basing major career decisions not on reserve times or quality of trips or QOL but solely on the relative comfort of the flight deck. Wow.

In EWR a new-hire will hold a line on the Bus much faster than the Guppy. Where commuting is concerned, my Floridian friends go to EWR because they have JetBlue and Southwest as alternatives.

He qualified his comment. What's your point?

Guppy guys get their panties in a bunch whenever you mention anything about the comfort/convenience of an Airbus product vs a Boeing

Not true. He said, "No question about it"...go Airbus based on the comfort of the flight deck.

I could not care less which airframe he chooses. He should make it based on all information available, not solely on the comfort of the flight deck.

Who said anything about solely? Cockpit comfort comes after line holding but it's a factor. This butt has spent over 14 years in DC 8s and 9s. It's ready for a little comfort. Career decisions? Don't get me started on that topic.

I completely agree on all counts, just busting your chops. The trips and variety of flying on the 37 are/is far better than the bus. That being said, I believe the bus is getting more junior as more senior guys bid over to the guppy for instant senority. I can only speak for the bus, but I was 40% in base after 5 months on line.

Definitely not trying to get into an argument here. He should choose based on all factors. Perhaps I misread the post.

Cheers,

HT
