Jeeez.
Should have known better than to post this on here. You guys take everything and twist it to something that was never said.
They did not say they were focusing on the regionals. They did not disparage military pilots. Where are you getting this??
I took it to mean the highest qualified (BY POINT SYSTEM THAT UNITED USES) it's now moving towards the regional pilots..... simply because the highest point getters before were mostly military and they have been called.
It was not slanted towards one or the other.

This seems reasonable to me. But I might use 4- or 5-1 for the fighter community where every 1.3 in the logbook can represent one takeoff, one approach, one landing, a brief, a debrief and 90-100% handflying.

The process understands all backgrounds and what are "norms." There is no specials and everyone gets the rank and file according to their background, experience, conferences and etc...this does understand EVERYONE'S skills and talents.

Gouge: Heard that they will be calling Nov 3/4th for the December 2nd class date. Someone who interviewed with me on the same day was offered the Nov 11 class.

Every active civilian CFI meets this criteria too. Fighter dudes have a lot more on their plate than these few things to justify the extra 0.3. But really, I believe the 0.3 is not because our work in the military is more complex (although it may be for many of us), it is because mil uses air time in the logbook, and civilians use engine time. The extra .3/sortie is to account for this discrepancy, nothing else.
