It's all about who you know...and then they look at your resume. Gave up stressing over things I have no control over a long time ago. Sure would have been nice to get hired at 25 though.

Had 9-11 not happened, I would have been starting at 24. So not just who you know but also timing in this crazy world. Like you said. Nothing you can control.

Also heard a new hire, 6 months in, quit and went to AA.

Sometimes hub locations make all the difference. If little is vested at UAL and they see a chance to not be a commuter, it's an easy decision.
