Passengers waiting in a terminal crammed to the gills with passengers that was clearly not designed for the amount of people only to get thrown onto a plane that hasn't been cleaned. If the airline defines "catering" as dropping everything into a trashbag and leaving it on the sticky galley floor... you really can't be surprised at this.

Big picture is this...we have to get beside ourselves and change this place. No matter how mgmt decides to behave it always comes down to us. We can either make this place the best or worst airline. When the we are the worst will will be the best at bankruptcy and furloughs. We suffer and no one else.

But if the CAL pilots hate the 747 why did the CAL attorney **panic** when the UAL side proposed a 5 year fence.
Those two don't add up.....
You downplay them as not desirable, then **make** a brick when you aren't going to be able to immediately bid into them.....
hmmm......

I'm not knocking the 747. Flew one for 3 years. Great plane.
I'm merely pointing out that blaming CAL for what is described in the article is not correct. LCAL doesn't fly that route or that plane (anymore)
Quit blaming CAL for everything bad at UAL.
Whether or not the crew knew that the plane was not serviced correctly is beside the point. The new United is failing miserably at taking care of both employees and customers. The rush to close the door 10 early so we can wait for bags to be loaded is a joke and at the root of many of the current problems.
Put the blame squarely where it belongs, Smizek!
