UAL Bias Against SkyWest
#11
What a bunch of BS. I hear all kinds of fairy tales about why I didn't get hired from the unsuccessful. Kind of like here recently and the spat of "I didn't get hired at UAL because I was white BS!"
Plenty of Sky West pilots are getting hired, there is no bias even with some of the hinky stuff Sky West has pulled over the years. Like blanket denial of jump seats to UAL pilots. And less than professional/friendly conduct some of these punks have pulled on our guys over the years.
So when you really think about it maybe there should be a bias against Sky West. But there isn't.
As has been mentioned if you are invited to an interview it's already your job. You just need to hang on to it for that crucial hour. Companies do not waste time interviewing pilots they don't want to hire.

No merit to this at all. Interviews are setup to pick out what fits and would be added value to the company. There is no bias to any group. Your buddies just didn't fit for different reasons and nothing more. Tell your buddies that it just didn't happen and stop trying to justify the situation.

Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard: Well, what does that mean Biggs, 'hinky'?
Marshal Biggs: I don't know. Strange.
Marshal Henry: Weird.
Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard: Well, why don't you say strange or weird? I mean hinky, that has no meaning.
Marshal Biggs: Well, we say hinky.
Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard: I don't want you guys using words around me that have no meaning. I'm taking the stairs and walking.
Marshal Biggs: [sotto voice] How about 'bull****?' How about 'bull****', Sam?

Sure, the hiring hasn't equalized YET, but it will. Meaning, AA could hire as many UAX and Delcon pilots as they can to "hamper" the competition. Then UAL could hire as many USAir/AE/AC, Delcon pilots as they can to "hamper" the competition, etc etc etc in race of mutual destruction of the regional feeders that EVENTUALLY effects the mainline's bottom line.
As mentioned, they're gonna hire who they want, regardless of where they came from.

Marshal Biggs: This is hinky, this guy's a college graduate, he went to medical school, he's not gonna come through all the security, go to the county lockup, to find someone his one people say does not exist. Hinky.

I have had 2 people tell me now that SkyWest pilots aren't finding much success in the UAL interview... One guy said it was because SkyWest is a non-union carrier.
Now I know that if this is a rumor all it takes is a couple of ****ed off SkyWest guys who legitimately busted the interview to blame it on Union politics. But I also know that SkyWest as a whole burned some bridges with the ALPA drive a few years ago.
Can anyone in the know confirm or debunk this?

Guess the interview is working.

A bit of a false theory. Especially as it pertains to a carrier like SkyWest as their pilots fly UAX paint, American Connection paint, USAir Express Paint, Delcon paint. Just like RAH/Shuttle.CHQ pilots, etc.

My question still stands. Can the regionals, at the present time, hire enough pilots to replace the ones they are about to lose?
