As I said, you can be indifferent to it, or you can be aware. Your choice, but the United guys, just like anyone, anywhere, don't care to be mis-identified. Take it one step further, while one is on probation smiling and keeping their head low, they can tap into the United guys who can and probably will go to bat for the new hires.....

The CAL jobs aren't recalls for the United guys.

Finally, if I were a new hire, I'd hope to shed the scab friendly management friendly CAL label ASAP after ISL.....

Questions?
Also wanted to add on to what I said after thinking about it for awhile. The one thing I agree with Carol (that was hard to choke out!) is I want the new hires to be excited to come to the "NEW UNITED"! And, with all of us acting like 2 yr olds on this forum doesn't help! When I fly with new hires it's a GREAT time since they are excited to be here! They don't want to hear about the "old CAL or UAL" they want to know about the "New United"! I don't know why you want to keep being such a downer, thats what set me off !(Carol's word's) You lump neg. tags that had nothing to do with the so called pilot's your talking about. Is UAL still a scab airline since you still have scab's? ( you don't need to answer since I don't think you are!) The bummer for you guys is that there are furloughed UAL guys in CAL uniforms and they get a first hand look at how people like you treat CAL guys!! (MOST UAL guys are Great though!!) Why do you think they wear "Red Tags and UAL wings"? It's because they don't want to be "misidentified" by people like YOU! I do have a question for you! How would you identify a UAL furloughee without red tag or ual wings? And what would you tell a new hire to "Tap" into a UAL pilot for? Like Carol said I think you should compare cultures here so the new hires can see what your beliefs are. They are getting ours while flying with us. So far they don't seem to disgusted!!

Be careful though, Carol may get mad at you for spreading "hate and pettiness" on the new hire thread! Oh wait, he only does it with CAL responses. But, BigFatDaddy" will +1 you, so all is good!
Actually what I posted was
Side note: I am sure most street hires are just happy to be there and are not too interested in the politics and cultural differences..... the UAL furloughees in class at TK South (IAH) are not recalls. It is a job offer with certain terms.
It was intentionally vague so if the reader wanted to take interest s/he could... or just ignore it.... that is why I wrote 'are not too interested' however, you jumped all over it like the 'know it all kid in class' anxiously raising his hand to get called upon... again!

Stay thirsty my friend!

So, how about the latest and greatest on new hiring? Any good new rumors about hiring amounts to make us salivate?

60/mo. through the end of 2013. Hiring continues next year at a rate TBD.

(And it's not even a rumor, it's straight from the SVP's update.)

Right..... sure.... because the giddy kid in a candy store attitudes are going to last for what? Three months after IOE?

Part of getting hired is adopting the culture you get whether you like it or not.... if you just want to read 'put me in coach, I'm ready to play, just gimme a chance' then gloss over this post.....
