UAL offer street hires classes?

FYI....from a current UAL friend:
Talked with a guy at ops in IAH. He told me 12 to 14 per week starting in March. Said we are 500 short right now, and the new hires will continue indefinitely. Interviews will be in DEN, and the new hire process is being coordinated by DENTK (the UAL training center) and Capt. Charlie Venoma in Houston. The guy also said that training may slow down for Summer flying, but it probably won't stop (as is rumored).

Only a Part 61/141 IP/LCA but not a Chief, LCA or IP at the 121 level. Personally since I'm a commuter I'm not willing to restrict my time with my wife and kids any more than this job already does. If I lived in domicile or was single I would without a doubt be able to check more boxes. I do realize this will hold be back a bit at first but it shouldn't be long till they start pulling guys like me (I hope).
I'm not female nor a minority but I am a member of OBAP and WIA. Which kills my wife since I'm neither but they are great networking organizations and offer fantastic information as well guidance.

So the CAL side is 500 short? But aren't there 600+ UAL guys still on furlough????

I hear they are waiting on the SLI to be done with before coming back to see where the chips fall and where they stand. Also, many might not be coming back... In the mean time CAL needs pilots and can't afford to wait.

At first I didn't take the LCAL job offer because it would have been a sizable paycut from the any port in a storm cubicle job I had found.
Now I'm just waiting until I get furloughed from here to go back to there.
