UAL offer street hires classes?

United - Guam
Does anyone have any information on United's Guam base? Does it tend to go senior or junior? Specifically, can new hires be awarded Guam in training? What time commitment in Guam is there, if any?
In addition, do the schedules there lend to commuting to the mainland for a week or so?
Thanks!

Should be some other information on Guam posted here. In a nutshell, they fly 737-700 and -800's to Japan, Micronesia and to a few other locations in Asia.

It has been trending senior as of late. I have heard (unconfirmed) that in recent new hire classes, some have wanted it but have not had the seniority to get it. Historically, it has gone junior.
Specifically, can new hires be awarded Guam in training?
Yes, although there has been some flow in from other bases as of late.

None - unless as a new hire you want 2nd year pay and/or a paid move there. It is then 18 months. If you want a paid move when you return, you will need to commit to an additional 18 months.
In addition, do the schedules there lend to commuting to the mainland for a week or so?
On reserve, yes. As a junior line holder, probably.

40k/yr is not the norm for a 2nd year FO at a regional. I understand even a major airline would be a pay cut for a few years, however, quality of life has a price too and being away from my wife and daughter 6 months at a time living in a ****hole with little communication is starting to really suck.
