I think it matters more who they are and having a good relationship with UAL. As long as they are not giving you pointless one liner recs. The recruitment team did specifically say in a memo they don't want the integrity of internal recs watered down by reccomending everybody you've ever met.

Default UAL Recall Update

"The total number of recall offers stands at 342. The most junior pilot to receive a recall offer was hired at United on October 11, 1999. Pilot responses to recall offers 185-342. The deadline for response to recall offers 185-256 has passed; approximately one fourth of the pilots who received recall offers last week have responded to date. The trend of responses among this seniority range (pilots hired from July 1999 to October 11, 1999), is an increased acceptance rate among pilots with military commitments, while the acceptance rate among pilots available to begin training on their effective date is decreasing. As of now, 26% have accepted recall, but only 5% accepted recall without full time military obligations. Since the latter are the ones that would be available to fly for the summer 2013, there will be another evaluation of the need for additional recalls next week."

All good info... Thanks

Here is another question- Of the CAL classes are a majority of the April and beyond classes being filled with off the street hires or a mix still of the Furloughed UAL pilots? Thanks

Sounds like all our United new-hires had internal recs. Here's a question for you lucky ones. Did any of you guys getting called have recommendations soley from a L-UAL pilot(s)? I'm just wondering if they are considering recommendations equally from either L-CAL or L-UAL pilots now that we are hiring off the street.

Any info on the interview that doesn't violate the signed agreement? Last info I read was to study Delta's technical questions and that would be sufficient.
