I was amazed that UAL honored type rating scholarships before interns.

Good friend just got a March 12th class date. He was an Aprilish 2008 hire but had his class cancelled later that year. Meet and great, simple background checks, flight time checks, and relevant updates.

Here are examples of two organizations that UAL provides scholarships (there may be more):

Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals:
United Airlines 737 Type Rating Scholarships

Women in Aviation:

I assume that you guys are L-UAL interns based on the title of the thread. I was a 2000 L-CAL intern and haven't heard anything in terms of hiring or phone calls. Any other CAL interns out there in the same boat?

Has anyone been offered an April class date yet? I've heard that April will be the first month of true "off the street" new hires. Any news on this yet?

I would think they need to interview first before filling classes with "off the street." Haven't heard of any interviewing yet. Getting tight to start interviewing and fill April classes.
