No email here.
7700 TT
3400 Turbine PIC
1450 Heavy International
1 job fair
No internals (trying to find someone I might know at UAL/CAL)
No 121 check/instructor, etc.
For the people getting emails, do you have any "negatives" on your application?
For example, I disclosed two speeding tickets from 20 years ago. And, I have been furloughed for 10 months, so my recent experience hours have nearly dropped to 0. I'm wondering if they are only picking "perfect" applications? Other than that, I have nothing to hide. No failures, no accidents/incidents etc.
Good luck to all!

Sadly, IMHO, recency of experience does play a role and could be a factor in your case.

Sled I have to say you hit the nail on the head with your observation of AA/US. I grew up in the United family and always wanted to fly for UA. Just last week I got a call for an interview for US Airways. The minute before the call I was 100% focused on UA. 1 minute after the invite call, I am 100% focused on US/AA. In reality, while both US and AA have had their serious issues over the years, there is incredible potential for a great career.

Not to rain on the parade, but the AMR integration is going to be a mess.
First, is the senioriety hassle. The USAir guys are not going to stop fighting till they retire or die. The APA weenies are used to stapling everyone at the bottom, and that's not going to happen either.
Second, current AMR management has run them into the ground and desperately trying to maintain control post bankruptcy, not sure they can, so the fight to stay in charge will be long and fugly.
AA merger should be treated as a leper colony until proven otherwise. Huge gamble to go there. And...new hires there won't happen till they get their SLI done--could be a while so don't hold your breath. Still lots of furloughs to go through, and then there is the TWA suit--even better.
I'm UAL and think their mess will be a whole lot worse than my mess. My advice, stay away. As bad as it is and incompetant management current UAL, and I don't believe I'm saying this, I'd come here over AA any day.

Sometimes it's only greener because they just dump better manure on it
Or sometimes not greener, it just gets cut more often.
I agree with Jsled also. Get into USAir NOW and one probably won't regret it. When the MOU kicks in, money won't be an issue.
APPLY EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!

I agree with all you have to say... to an extent. I know you cant put yourself in anyones shoes, but you mean to tell me as a 7 year regional FO at a dirt bag company now, I should turn down a job offer at US Airways due to merger concerns and hope UA calls? Might I also add that current Airways has a base where I live. Obviously that could change down the road with the merge... but still its better then having ZERO chance of living in base.
What I am trying to say, is that if things are equal, and most of the time they are not, I think AA is going to be messed up more and longer than UAL. Think hard about your decisions. If offered, possibly use AA to work until you get a real offer?
