Can anyone tell me what kind of weight does it hold if you get a LOR from a chief pilot after a seemingly successful meet & greet. I was curious if that would provide a reasonably good chance of getting an interview. I had a meet and greet about 2.5 months ago and still haven't heard anything as of yet. Just wondering what to expect.

I am not sure about 16 a week forever. UAL is not growing, it is shrinking. The 737 school might get really busy, but it might be mostly lUAL 756 guys as they park the aircraft.
I repeat, UAL is not growing. After this year it will be retirement replacement only. 8 a week?

We have 400+ retirements per year for 10 years (mandatory 65) and then 600+ for another 10. That is age 65, but there are few pilots that have retired this year well before that, plus some medical issues, and some just don't make it. So 60 per month is for now and this number will not continue forever, but I can see 40-48 per month easy, factoring some breaks for holidays, and summer flying.
Network growth may happen ones AA/USA consolidation is completed, there will be some room to grow again, we'll be competing with Emirates for long haul flights.
So good luck to everyone who wants to work for United, I think it will be a great decision to joint our airline, there is a light in a tunnel, things slowly getting better.

UAX hires
I know with the "new" FAA hours rule kicking coupled with the regional race to the bottom on pay, has anyone from the UAX carries been hired or is United trying to stay away from hiring them to keep their cheap labor "properly staffed?" There've been a rumor or two floating around about this and I'm hoping it's just that...
