That we have a contract now and that the L-CAL side is hiring pilots off the street while we still have each and every furloughed L-UAL pilot is still furloughed?
Shouldn't we be required to have a total recall before the first off the street guy comes on property? It is the only fair and the ONLY way this should be going down. Anything less is simply unacceptable.

Haven't they offered a postion to every UAL furloughee? I was under the impression they had gone through the entire UAL furloughee list with a job offer from CAL, and that many had turned the offer down or bypassed.

They went through the list TWICE. Its not like everyone hasn't been offered a position to fly. They have just refused it.
Most of the guys I know who haven't taken it, wont for years. They are at other jobs and going to "hang out" and time their re-entry when they like their seniority, which they have up to 10 years to do.

You all seem to be missing the point of the post. The pilots that were furloughed from United have not yet been offered their jobs back at United even though the airline is now operating under one collective bargaining agreement and is bringing in new hire pilots. If a pilot is in the pool and was never processed, then they are a "new hire". I agree with you Hoss, this is ALPA at their lowest. Merry Christmas.

GENTLEMEN!
Being offered a job at L-CAL is NOT a RECALL! Of course this should be plainly obvious to the average airline pilot with slightest bit of knowledge about how things work in the industry. It has nothing to do with a "reviled" position at L-CAL, taking that job is called being stapled with a pay benefit.
Recalled is when you are recalled to your righteous position in the seniority list not starting over at the bottom. We've got several hundred voluntary furloughs some of whom took the L-CAL job, some of whom were holding senior positions as widebody captains. They are either still out on the street or pulling gear as reserve F/O's now. When they get RECALLED they come back to their previous positions. Is this really that difficult to figure out?
