Recalled is when you are recalled to your righteous position in the seniority list not starting over at the bottom. We've got several hundred voluntary furloughs some of whom took the L-CAL job, some of whom were holding senior positions as widebody captains. They are either still out on the street or pulling gear as reserve F/O's now. When they get RECALLED they come back to their previous positions. Is this really that difficult to figure out?
Unfortunately until the SLI is done nobody knows their overall seniority and that is why neither side has a choice except status quo. There will be bids on both sides until that date comes.

They have offered jobs but they have not RECALLED yet. ALPA at its finest.

Just like being on the street will not account for longevity for the SLI.

I guess 417 thought it was better than staying out.

Simply saying this is a tragedy and blaming everyone here for this problem is not going to solve anything.
EWR73FO,

I am not blaming anyone on this sight for what is happening with our furloughed pilots. But it really is low class and ignorant to infer that our guys have been "recalled" in regards to the L-CAL job offer scheme.

There is a HUGE difference between a recall and job offer starting over at the bottom of the list, DUHH!!! I agree that we most likely won't see any resolution until after ISL. However there was an announcement that we were going to recall's in the spring then it just disappeared. I know some pretty senior guys who are pretty sick and tired of yanking gear on reserve and would like to get back to their regularly scheduled lives.

I have to disagree with you. Fear was the prime motivating factor here and if anyone thinks this contract was "good", perhaps a visit to the local mental health practitioner is in order.

UAL's Contract 2000 was GOOD, this one most definitely does not fall into that category. With that being said, its over and done with and I will abide with the majority's wishes but I'd appreciate not having to suffer through phony trumped up claims of how wonderful this extremely mediocre document truly is.

And even more criminal how CAL only had 3 bases in the USA and is moving into all the UAL bases and shrinking UAL, Easternizing and Frontiering UAL. But, I expect nothing else from a Scab Culture at CAL.

Craig

PS This would be more fun to discuss at the bar over a few beers. I will buy you a beer if you are up for it.

OK, you're gonna like this one, or maybe not if your cognitive dissonance kicks in:
Smizek: "At Continental, although I am very proud of Continental, I thinkwe have done a very good job, candidly, Congressman, we are eking out a hand-to-mouth existence. And that is not a future that I want for my employees,...."

page 101/329 or page 77 on the top of this document http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CHRG-111hhrg57059/pdf/CHRG-111hhrg57059.pdf

Is this the story you were looking for?
