As I have a few folks posting here on ignore, I am not reading all the posts. Thanks for posting that info. I am probably included in that law suit de facto since I've been on mil leave for a while. From what I read in USERRA, I got exactly what I was required to get by law. I think others read it differently, hence the suit. There is history here, I know, as we (CAL mil guys) had a law suit against the company about 2 years ago for violating federal law. The lawsuit was a push as no damages were awarded, but the company also had to change many of it's practices. I don't think they'll/we'll get anything in this case. It's up to ALPA whether they hold back money for this.
BTW, many of us took mil leave when they were furloughing to try and keep guys without that option on the property. They didn't officially count against the numbers, but when you drop a 4 year tour on them, they have to staff for your absence. I was not even close to furlough, but had the option and took it.
Again, I don't think this case will go any where as the distribution looked to me to be in accordance with the USERRA directives.

Also - a very sincere thank you for your service.

BTW Mark Duffer was the CAL ALPA mil rep before all of this and resigned ver all of this. Also, I have firsthand knowledge that DAL pilots on mil leave during their merger received a substantial bonus without working a day for their company. i believe that may be the basis for the law suit.

Woah, hold on. Based on reading the text from the SLI process, I understood that the CAL side didn't want improved work rules. They said so themselves... It was all good until the UAL side insisted on improved work rules that actually cost something (which UAL already had), which they (CALPA) are adamantly against. Because money is everything. Seriously, it's in the transcripts.

In all seriousness, let the committee's do their work. Quit reading the transcripts all day. It will drive you crazy. The list will be somewhere in the middle of the two proposals. Always is. That's why it goes to arbitration.
Cheers Stoops. I look forward to flying with you all in a few months when I get back. Hopefully, we can help make this airline into one of the best in the world. Though we're going to need help from management.

You guys need to quit acting like the CAL pilots are writing this stuff and putting words in the SLI committees mouth. We're not. But, here's a surprising fact: the CAL SLI committee is trying to get the best result for the CAL pilots. That's what we want them to do. Here's another surprising fact. The UAL committee is trying to get the best result for the UAL guys. I want them to do that too. It's their job. Why do people not get this. It's a bunch of LAWYERS arguing their cases. Lawyers lie, cheat, steal, and do whatever they need to do to prove their case. They are like criminals themselves. No offense to the criminals out there.

You are correct, Staller! I did not make any of those as I was a Navigator for a short 6 years, and looking back on it I would not change a thing. The shorter commitment and the timing of my exit paved the way for me to be here, not to mention the wife and kids and all the great friends along the way.
If you can't get over the fact that I don't support the mission (as millions of other Americans do not), you are the one with the problem.
BTW, I've heard all the Navigator jokes, unless you have a new one. I'll even let you tell them while you're pulling my gear...

First, there is no way I would pull gear for you or any cal guy and there is no way you'll ever be senior enough to pull gear for me. That's a good thing in case you don't understand.

You should be proud of being a navigator. Look at you now - a front row seat. I do have one correction for your little dig highlited above -
First, there is no way I would pull gear for you or any cal guy and there is no way you'll ever be senior enough to pull gear for me. That's a good thing in case you don't understand.

Couple of questions for you:
Who do you fly for?
What plane do you fly and what is your seniority on it?
Where are you based?
You throw a lot of comments out, yet hide behind the keyboard in anoniminity.........hard to take anything you say seriously.
