BTW the same as many of you:

1. More retro
2. More pay
3. No modifications in reserve work rules.
4. They hate management and would send back any TA offered to them.
5. More, more, more
6. I want to work 10 days a month, have medical benefits paid for 100%, increase my retirement plan, ability to commute at company's expense....

There ya have it.
A little emotional regularguy?

Still a solid NO vote!
And unlike a strike, we will never know which NO voters were voting no to keep working under a substandard contract to avoid SLI and keep taking jobs from their brother and sister pilots....

I think that's the problem. This is the same group that voted in the lousy contract they are currently under, and now given the choice of a much improved contract, but that comes with being integrated with a much more senior pilot group, their tune changes.

So you can read into that what you want, but that's the real scenario.

And yes, that demographic is very worried about ISL as we have more than 6,300 pilots who have never been furloughed and have 14+ continuous years of service that they are likely to be junior to.

How is this contract worse than the current CAL contract? It's richer by far. You'd rather live under the current deal you have than a new one? Oh ya, that's right, the new deal comes with the integration of a new pilot group.

Better vote NO then....

Pretty simple.
Then we vote that one down because "We didn't get ALL the things we wanted".

The big mistake here was not handling ISL immediately so that we did not create a sense of urgency on one pilot group side and a lack of urgency on the other one.

I completely agree with you!

But sadly, none of this is going to change by voting no, except you can add a year to the implementation schedule.

Syd

"A little emotional regularguy? "

Nope in fact I was smiling a lot when I wrote that.

If this was just a sUAL contract TA I would vote NO because of the changes in reserve, no cap in flying and other small items. But, my vote is yes for the reasons I have previously stated, the main one being from the sUAL side it's time to get these pilot groups integrated.

In personal discussions, rather than arguing contract points, I've found that the following two questions cause a majority of pilots to begin thinking with a great deal of introspection and less emotion.....

Does the present value of the TA/contract by voting "yes" exceed the delayed future value by voting "no?" If it does, then vote "yes."

Taken another way, does the delayed future value of the resulting contract by voting "no" exceed the present value by voting "yes?" If it does, then vote "no."

With what leverage? The negotiating didn't work out so well over the past 3 years according to the fact you are voting no. So what's different now?
