I simply came along because the title of the thread caught my eye on the main page and my immediate thought was:


"Is this for real?"

Come to find out, it ain't. But I read on and I agreed with Golden Bear's post, so I added my "+1." And then I came back to check on the thread and saw jsled's post, where I disagreed with his comment about "us forum experts" are less intelligent than the "SMEs and lawyers ALPA pays good money for." His post made it sound like he was in favor of the contract language that allows for more UAX carriers, which is something I vehemently wish would end. And by "end," I mean "anything with 50 seats or more would rejoin the mainline fleet and the pilots would go with them (granted, I fully expect that UAX pilots would be stapled to the bottom of the list as that's the price they pay for not making the jump to mainline sooner. But that's a whole 'nother discussion in itself.) And because it sounded like he was in favor of that contract language, I took a shot at him with my "But you got yours" statement. Now, don't get me wrong, I like jsled and most of his posts are a pleasure to read.

And then came uaav8r with his panties already in a bunch. He started talking smack, so I fueled the fire and the madder he got, the more I stoked the flames. And then his buddy Probe tried to tell me to take a hike, which is a big mistake when you're trying to get someone who's having fun to leave you alone.

Now you're here, Joe Peck, IADFO on the 756, making foolish comments about anonymity to a guy who does very little to hide his identity. I'd make these remarks to you in person if you'd take the time to listen. But when I meet older pilots in person, I do what I was raised to do, be respectful and listen twice as much as I speak. There's wisdom to be gained from you "old" guys, and I'm all about picking it up, which is why I originally posted in this thread. But here in the Forum, I can't tell who's older and who's younger, so if you act like an idiot (uaav8r), I'm going to treat you as such

The consensus here seems to be that no one likes you Carl. I'm sure that you are aware that you entered a UAL/CAL forum thread less than a week from the closing date of a very hotly contested contract vote. I would like to say that your maturity level is on par with that of a 12 yr Old, but then that would be an insult to my 12 yr old. Someday you too will be mature enough to understand that when you are dealing with a man who is making a major career decision that will affect his family's livelihood, you don't jump in and start spouting off crap, especially when you have no skin in the game whatsoever. You claim to have done this because you were "having fun". Real cool Carl. I would suggest that you go post on a forum thread that pertains to your own employer Carl. Good day.

You're making a yes or no decision on a contract; I know exactly how that feels. I absolutely have skin in the game. Your decisions today affect my career tomorrow. So, no pressure, don't screw it up.
