Default Furloughees Don't Get A Vote on TA???

I tried to vote on this TA only to find no link for me to click. After verifying my membership was in "good standing" I fired off an email, only to get a response from ALPA that furloughed pilots don't get to vote. Can this really be true? Over 1000 furloughed UAL pilots really don't get any say on this TA? I'm hoping this info is incorrect... if not very disappointed.

Not positive but mil leave folks are not eligible to vote. I think if you are not paying dues currently, you get no vote.

It was the same for Delta and NWA furloughed pilots. It's been that way for, well, ever. Same with Mil Leave.

The CAL offer was made to all furloughed pilots, and I would be safe to bet 1000 NO votes will not happen because those furloughed pilots did not take the offer....well, 300 or so were needed but those would have been part of the more senior furloughs without longevity.

LTD pilots are also not included. Basically, you have to be on property to vote.

Who can vote in union elections is embedded in federal law. There is no latitude on the unions part to decide who votes.

"Active" versus "inactive." There are some who don't like to hear that. It is what it is.

They'd vote NO on the contract that when passed, would bring them back to work....

Active and in good standing. If you are behind in dues or payments, you may not get to vote either. Basically, you have to pay to vote...
