Default Taking a picture of my "YES" vote now

....so I can say, "See, I voted for it" to my fellow sUAL'ers out there when we're still working for bankruptcy wages in another year or two. Or worse yet, sitting in 'new hire' class in IAH so we can learn to pull gear for 7 year CAL captains when Pharmer Phred indeed "harvests" our airline. Call it fear. I don't care. I call it the reality of being a "junior" 15 year sUAL First Officer. Fire away junior CAL captains! (and 2172/1437).

What I "wish for" is that we get this over with on Dec 15th, get an ISL, and level the playing field.

Thumbs up

My "Yes" vote is in too. It was actually an easy decision after looking over the pros and cons. While the agreement cannot be described as perfect (not even C2000 was perfect), it has many good improvements in it.

I have spent the last couple of weeks becoming quite familiar with the new contract language and all the supporting documentation. I also attended the local LEC presentations here at IAD. One of the things I have purposely tried to do is read and try to understand as many "No" arguments as I could. What I found is most of the "No" arguments focused more around rhetoric than facts. I was able to easily refute most of the "No" arguments with a little bit of research and reading of the TA.

What I also found is that alot of people don't seem to understand our (s-UA) current contract. From reassignment rules - yes lineholders can currently be reassigned. To reserve call-out times - currently unwritten at 4 hours to push which is the same as 3 hours to brief. I'll take their 2:30 hours to brief any day at Dulles as they will pay for close in parking. With the employee parking lot so far away at Dulles this is better than our current rules!

My hope is that we vote on this TA based on the facts in front of us, not the emotion of the last decade.

This is exactly what I was hoping for in this discussion...A perspective on this forum other than that of junior CAL captains and pi$$ed off (and rightfully so) 2172/1437.

To the L-UAL guys: What is your impression of how the vote is going on your side?

A lot of fence sitters. Many yes, and many very vociferious no's. If CO is hard over no, I don't know if there are enough UAL yes's to get it passed.

I agree with Dave's assessment. IMO it will come down to the fence sitters at sUAL that will determine if we have a JCBA in 2 weeks.

My impression is sCAL is not a "hard over NO." A few make a lot of noise.
