Uhhh....not quite right. Right now there is no restriction on UAL scope for 70 seats. They can be unlimited right up to the % flying limit, which is a moving target and unenforceable since CO flying is all now UCH. The new TA will put specific limits on a lot more than we have now.

So, sounds like you are Delta. Unless you have read extensively both of our new and old agreements, might want to refrain from comments like this.
Oopsy. Sorry Dave. Didn't see this until after I laid out a redundant post. Apologies.

Indeed it has, and wearing it during this critical period of trying to develop pilot unity under a likely new contract and merged list is certainly counterproductive.

As long as we're divided against each other we cannot be unified in the coming storm of how this management will start interpreting the contract.

Agreed. I have no idea why anyone would wear such a divisive item today when we are trying to work as one unified group. We are trying to be unified against management, aren't we??

Try Our Real Quality United Experience
The "Torque" pin has nothing to do with the CAL merger, though I can see why it might be taken as such. We had a similar reaction when we heard "Proudly operated by CAL pilots" for a long time after the merger. At first, I took that as a dig at the UAL pilots. When I heard what was really behind it, it made me smile every time!

Anybody that is still wearing that pin is probably part of the 1% anyway. Just ignore him/her.

I've read McFee's books including this one. It sure is entertaining.

OK, the UAL pilots bring to the LTD program no cash and many liabilities . They take from the monies allocated to the retro payment allotment to make up some of their shortfall. Meanwhile the CAL pilot's LTD program was funded with $100 Million CAL PILOT AFTER TAX WAGE dollars and supports far fewer pilots drawing benefits.

L-CAL pilot's portion of retro is too small, because LUAL torqued this portion of the TA.

"On Aug. 3, 2012, the company announced it had reached an agreement in principle with respect to a new joint
bargaining agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association (“ALPA”), representing pilots at United and Continental. The company recorded $454 million of expense in the third quarter associated with lump sum cash payments that would be made in conjunction with the ratification of the contract and the completion of the integrated pilot seniority list. This charge also includes costs associated with changes to existing pilot disability plans negotiated in connection with the agreement in principle."
