What will a SLI accomplish??
I hear a lot about "We just need to vote this thing in, get an SLI, and then we can fight better against J-lo."
This confuses me. If we vote this POS in, we're going to be living under it until 2020 at least. (Amendable in 2017, average airline contract takes 3 years past the amendable date to negotiate.)
Why would we want to hurry up and get an SLI, when that will have zero to do with closing the loopholes and concessions in this contract?

25-A AmendableDate
This Agreement shall become effective on the date of signing hereof, shall continue in full force and effect through and including January 31, 2017, and shall renew itself without change each succeeding February 1st thereafter unless written notice of intended change is served in accordance with Section 6, Title I, of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by either party hereto at least thirty (30) days but no more than two hundred seventy (270) days prior to January 31, 2017, or any year thereafter. The parties shall commence direct negotiations with respect to such notice no later than thirty (30) days following the delivery of such notice.
So.. the Company COULD start talking to us in the Spring of 2016. But why would they?
If we have shown that we are willing to take pennies to the dollar for a delayed (J)CBA.. there will be no reason to work towards a "new" CBA until sometime in 2018-2019.
I believe if this POS TA passes, we will be living under it for almost 7 years, as a minimum.
