Guam Schedules
It looks like new hires will likely get Guam. What are the schedules and days off like? Do Guam new hires still start out at 2nd year pay? What other incentives can we expect if we get assigned Guam?

You won't get Guam unless you WANT Guam. The slots are voluntary unless they are not filled. They are usually filled.

Guam has very little turn-over. The guys who bid to fly there really enjoy it and many take their families with them...................usually only see them at sim recurrent. Not many openings there and the schedules are conducive to a nice life. Many block their days off so they get long stretches of days off if they want to come to the USA.................... The worst part is it's a LONG commute. They do have incentive pay (housing allowance) if I remember correctly.......................

It's not in the contract, nor is it a fact. If they need pilots in Guam and no one volunteers, then the junior guy(s) in class get it.
The flying looks bad. I researched it thinking I might try it. Lots of red eye turns to Japan. People say its not what you do at work, but what you do on your days off that makes Guam great.

It is not. Guys in my class were non-vol'd and every time they furloughed the bottom few pilots just above that furlough line suddenly found themselves out there. 53 of 74 positions were filled on the latest system bid. 21 to fill this fall, one way or the other.
