I honestly think it will be much earlier than April for off the street interviews. They have (these numbers are rounded).... 80-90 possible poolies to interview and then the remainder of the 230 they will hire before May.
I think it will happen much faster than that. They will need to get people interviewed, background checks complete and standing by for possible class dates. Off the street may be peppered in sooner rather than later.
I think they are setting in for some long term hiring.

It will be interesting to see how many poolies come over. Meaning that if you are at DAL, SWA, or some other good carrier is it worth the risk.
On the off the street hiring wouldn't it all be directly tied to how many L-UAL furloughees want to come over with a new JCBA.

How many UA furloughed guys will come back over the next few years? When will you get hired? How many guys will leave LAX for different equipment/bases to free up space? Those are the questions I would be asking myself to find out how long it would take.
