Oh believe me I KNOW my contract and I enforce it. It's Fred's culture to throw it out the window, remember who's in charge of flight ops. Fred will direct scheduling to throw it out, he has done it on many occasions and will continue to do so. Guaranteed Fred has instructed them on the phrase "Order to Fly"

We have a great many pilots who don't know the current contract nor will they invest any time learning the new contract.

Agree, I understand the many emotions involved and respect them all.

Has anyone heard from CV or word from the training centers yet regarding furloughs suddenly wanting to come back because of the TA?

I would guess he and his team are busy over the next few weeks deciding if they need to hire or not.

They have 10 years to come back, so I think they are going to wait for ISL and then maybe even wait until they could hold a line on something before they come back.

I think there will be new hires coming soon, but I don't have any proof.

I agree with you LAX, why would anyone rush back if they have a job (and possibly family) to support. I know I would wait until after SLI and even further until I could hold a line in the base of my choice. Of course that is if they have jobs, and judging by the bypass (I know it wasn't a recall---I am referring to "bypassing" the job earlier this year)rate, most seem to not need a job right now. Why take a risk for a seniority number one already has?

Just my opinion and I hope it ends up being true to be honest, I know the result will be a stagnant existence on the bottom of the seniority list for years as they fill from the middle and above me, but that is a risk I will take.

Hopefully the next few weeks will offer some info in regards to hiring!

Might as well start building longevity and annual pay increases that go with it. Whatever happens, happens.

You are correct!

But now I am thinking, why wouldn't a furloughed pilot possible have the same thinking. Oh well.... it's their right to come back first.

Interesting few weeks ahead.

Not really. Been dealing with CAL Scedulers for a year, UAL schedulers since 2000, and airline schedulers since 1989.

None have ever thrown my contract "out the window"....they have tried though.
