Yes it is $3000 and it is a COLA. You do not have to have a physical address on GUM to get it. That is why some cheapos in the mainland are debating commuting 15 hours one way to get a measly 3K extra in the pocket.

This new RSV system in the new contract will be new to scheduling and both pilot groups. Keep in mind that historically UCH has been known to attempt RSV "leveling" (when able) to keep pilots under guarantee if the coverage exists and the new contract gives the company even more options to do so.
I certainly would not apply to UAL with the expectation of picking up lots of extra flying on RSV while aggressively picking up open flying on RSV days is certainly possible as it seems like locals want to stay home and commuters want out of their hotels/crashpads.

Yes. We have agressive pickup on the UAL side and that remains in this contract. The concept of "leveling" doesn't exist in the new CBA. We didn't have that at UAL. If you want to aggressively pick up flying, you can. Guys do it here all the time, but there has to be open time to pick up.
Most of what I hear from the CAL side isn't because their management takes advantage of the contract, its because it isn't in the contract.
We now have things that they never had so they are skeptical of how they will be implemented, but we have been using these contractual provisions for a while, and are well aware of how they work.

Actually it does more than ever, although it is not a formal requirement.
Scheduling will be able to assign a trip to any RSV without regard to long or short call or silo. If it's the last week of the month and pilot 'a' is sitting at 69 hours (after aggressive pickups) while pilot 'b' is at 50 hours and a short notice 20hr four day opens up guess who will be assigned? (Hint: one option is 'free' to the scheduling budget and the other will cost hundreds, if not thousands, of $$$)

You "seem" to know a lot about the CAL contract, care to tell exactly how long you've worked under Contract 02?
#388
No clue. But the new reserve is the UAL one with improvements, so the things these guys are saying that CAL does they won't be able to do under the new agreement.

Now, I have lived under Contract 02, might even say I am very familiar with it's contents. This new agreement (Contract 12?) is based on UAL book but it's not exactly what you have now.
The CAL scheduling department has a uncanny knack for throwing the contract in trash when it simply does not suit them. You've been warned.
As a side note, those of us on the CAL side will continue to live under Contract 02 till the ISL AND combined CMS. Enjoy your pay raise and current contract.

Ahhh so you no real knowledge of how the CAL contract works, yet you profess it's an improvement?

Or, is that against the "culture".
