The 75 new widebody aircraft on order will probably make all the difference in the world. I have full respect for all the guys flying the 737 (I was a 727 Capt while United had them) but I have no desire to fly that aircraft. So no matter how many more we get I'm not flying it, I'm just going to stay an Airbus guy forever and just fly widebody aircraft when that airplane goes away. If I never fly another Boeing, I'm find with that, but if I do, it'll be the big ones.
That being said, I've recently heard that the 748i might not be off the table after all. Hopefully, these widebody airplanes will end up being growth.
Couldn't agree more about the 737! I am really sad to see that as our narrowbody of choice. Flies nice, lousy cockpit

Flying with a CLT - EWR commuter Capt now. He says its pretty good, he uses USAIR, almost exclusively, especially going to work. Between UAX, and USAIR, plenty of flights. He stated USAIR is more reliable and fly bigger iron...

Unfortunately, if we get the 747-8, likely it'll be pay banded with a 767, truly disgusted.

Since it looks like the JCBA has passed, how is this expected to affect potential off the street hiring?
I'm wondering if I should concentrate elsewhere or continue with my United application with a realistic expectation.
