Wait...now I'm confused....is it, or is it not supposedly gonna be like the FEDEX interview?!

CV said on my FAM day that he observed the FedEx interview process and liked the situational portion in the "paper trainer". It sounds similar to what WN is doing also.

Just trying to find out more info like most of us here. Until the TA passes or fails I think it will be a bit of time until the new interview is known. just my 2 cents

I believe SWA would put you in the paper trainer and say, "ok, smoke in the cockpit, or passenger having a heart attack", lights camera action type of thing just to see what you would do etc........

It's a situational-based interview. It's a timed exercise. You're given 7 or 8 minutes. They put you in the paper traininer with 2 interviewers. One acts as your FO. The other acts as MX, Dispatch, FA, Jumpseater, basically everyone else. They tell you a scenario (you're on a flight from ORD to LAX, at FL370, 40NM East of Denver) and then hand you the weather for airports in your area. When you're ready, you say go and the timer starts and the scenario unfolds. They tell you a situation has occurred (bomb threat, sick pax, smoke in the cabin, etc) and then you make a decision. All of your options are bad, some worse than others.

Think of the Kobayashi Maru from Star Trek.

Continental Airlines, Inc. will rapidly go through the furloughed United Airlines, Inc. list and again offer jobs to these pilots. My guess is they will get a few more pilots taking the offer.

Then, it's full power off the street hiring to get ready for next summers flying. They have no other choice.

ALPA will continue to drag out the ISL through infighting. Continental Airlines, Inc. has got to have pilots to fly the new airplanes coming this summer.

Best of luck with your new career.
