Default December L-CAL Classes?

I've been holding out on accepting a class offer but it seems L-UAL won't ben recalling anytime soon.

So it looks like I will be biting this time and taking the offer to re-enlist at United. If one were to take a December 4,11 or 18th class, would either of those classes allow us to have the December X-mas and New Years holidays off?

It may sound purely selfish, but being as I will be a junior puke for many many years, this may be my last chance to actually wake up on X-mas morning with my kids. Any thoughts or advice on this? Or should I just play it safe and wait for a Jan recall class?

Thanks from all us with this same situation!

Two thoughts:
First; CV mentioned that L-CAL after the JCBA is PASSED, can cut off hiring UAL furloughees on the CAL side. Not sure where they get this from, but you see the management thinking over there. They wouldn't have taken us if they didn't have to to begin with. If you never felt like a red headed step child, just get furloughed from UAL, and you too can feel like you have 666 tattooed on your forehead at a Pentecostal revival meeting. I'm just laying this out there, because as mentioned by the CAL powers that be, they have to hire us according to the TPA, and as stated during FAM, the TPA is null and void, once a JCBA is passed. The other thought is, the TPA expires anyway after Jan. 1 if I'm not mistaken. So if you want to throw gear on the guppy anytime in the next 6 months, I would go ahead and put my hat in the ring now, to avoid any bureaucratic BS that they may try top pull on the 1436.

Second; Training doesn't take place on those holidays, the current class is also not in session during labor day. I would assume if you start the 18th, or 11th, you will definitely have those days off. Once you're in Sim, those scheds can be a little different. I can't speak to that as I don't know yet. You do get must ride to training, and pos space available home. So if you get those training dates, you should be fine. I myself am questioning whether I came back too early, and should have waited a few months.

You are mistaken, the entire TPA does not expire. Only certain sections of the TPA can be unilaterally terminated (aka "partial termination") prior to the JCBA and the hiring of furloughed pilots section (7-B) is not one of them.

Also, once the JCBA is complete there is no longer S-CAL or L-UAL from a pilot employment perspective and there is no option for UCH to only hire on one side or the other because the sides will no longer exist. UCH will not be offering "job opportunities" as they will be offering formal recalls.
How long, you think, before new TA and JCBA? Will it happen early 2013 or second half? Thanks

I stand corrected. That being said, how things progress should this JCBA pass, hasn't been defined. I've adopted the outlook of assuming I'll get ****** (use which ever colloquial expletive you like... it's like mad libs) and when it's only a donkey punch, I figure things aren't as bad.

The consensus is a TA for vote in the 4th Qtr 12... believe it when you see it
