What will the CAL guys do if they gave up the 76 seats like Delta? Sure hope the majority of the CAL guys vote NO if the TA comes out with waiving the 70's (even just a little bit). Even with big money ... even bigger than DAL ... hope everyone reads the scope first and shuts down the cancer it it's there in the TA.

Slick,

So far no love for the AIP based on what I've read on the other forum. Details of course are necessary, but a few have stated that their reps have authenticated the basic points leaked so far.

Not just no, hell no as far as I'm concerned.

9B in the bank. Everyone needs to remember that.

Just a question. I do not know much about the differences in the existing contracts vis a vis UAL and CAL, but from what I understand, CAL does not allow 76 seaters. UAL does. While this premise could be way off, if it were correct, how would you propose getting the UAL permitted 76s reduced to zero a la the CAL contract without a corresponding quid of pay or something else? IOW, I understand the angst, but how do you resolve the huge difference in scope between the two companies? No flamebait.. just an honest question.

You are really out of the loop. Even United does not allow 76 seaters. United does allow 70 seaters while Continental allows 50 seaters. Delta's scope is the worst in the industry.

The problem with UAL scope is they can convert EVERY 50 seat jet to 70 without limitation except mainline block hours. DAL scope applied to UAL might be an improvement, but when applied to CAL it is a disgrace. I will never vote for such a wholesale contract giveaway.

Still looking for JV, codeshare, et al language as well.

Btw, if DAL +1 was insulting a year ago, why would DAL -1 be palatable now?

Default TA rumor

This is what I heard. True or not? No idea.

1 week increase in vacation days....from year 25 up..ie...35 days to 42 days.
increase in vacation hour pay rate...from 2.8 hours to 3.15 hours pay.

More flexibility with way vacation is awarded.....up to 7 day shift in award to make vacation more valuable. .
RJ seats remain close to 70 seats ...(72 is what I am hearing) and great restrictions on numbers and Domicile flying......block hours....etc.....as hard limits as % of total flying ..not just domestic flying.
International override pay is restored.

significant Per diem increase....

PAY IS BASED ON CURRENT PAY AS "0" ..AND CAPS OUT AT ABOUT A 47% INCREASE OVER PERIOD OF AGREEMENT....4 YEARS. ...AND AT NO POINT IN CONRACT IS IT LESS THAN DELTA. IN GENERAL..IT IS DELTA + 10%. ...THORUGHOUT RANGE OF 4 YEARS...AS A ROUGH GOUGE.

NO INFO ON RETRO OTHER THAN "YEA..ITS ALL THERE"....BUT IT MAY BE PARTLY IN STOCK....THIS WILL BE A HUGE CHUNK OF CASH. IE..WELL OVER 100K FOR MOST CAPTAINS..NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE FLYING..AND 150K ++ FOR THE WIDE BODIES. .

NONE OF THIS IS COMMING FROM "OFFICIAL" MEC SOURCES...AND HAS BEEN PIECED TOGETHER MOSTLY FROM LEAKS IN HOUSTON....SO TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH.

Where is all this "info" coming from? Please don't say you had John Doe MEC rep on your jump seat and they told you.

Basically, in the past 24hrs I've heard two opposite "rumors/versions" of this AIP.
At least one had two names associated with it, unlike the above poster.

Guess we'll know more in a few weeks (my opinion)..

This of course is untrue.
