It started with the 50 seater, now mainline is giving up 76 seaters, what's next...... 100 seaters, then 125 seaters.

In addition, I dont buy the argument that mainline cant make money with the 76ers. Look at Air Canada who flies the E75 & E90.

BTW - Gonna vote no on our TA. One main reason, increases the # of 76 seaters.

Don't we already have outsourced international being flown by Aer Lingus? How many pilot jobs is that IAD-MAD trip costing us? Will it expand or go away in this contract???????????????????????? Hello negotiators and MEC reps........... You on this like a duck on a june bug, or are you asleep at the wheel.

PROTECT and ENHANCE SCOPE or DIE.

That is where we are. We must protect scope. It is more than a sacred cow, it is the hay, the water, the milk, the meat, it is the entire life cycle of the cow, it's the entire cow herd... We give it up here is what happens.

1. We attrit over 8 years about 750 mainline pilots
A. As we attrit those pilots, we hire regional pilots to replace them at 60% wage savings
B. Our relative seniority stays stagnant, thus postponing further upgrades by 6-8 years

2. Orders for various types of jets get re-worked, and fleet types and sizes get re-adjusted. Parking of wide body, and narrow body airplanes will occur at a faster rate. B-737 800-900 airplanes will replace B-757's. System bids will reflect down-sizing due to parking of airplanes and postponing deliveries.

3. We place downard pressure on our own earnings potential and the profession as we now factor in the new crop of domestic RJ pilots salaries. It's just like a "comp" in your neighborhood. Works the same way. House next door is 30 percent cheaper, then it lowers your relative value. You are now worth less because you have cheaper labor in your labor pool doing the same job you are doing.

How many will never even go to flight school or attempt to get their ratings because the current work force is so down on this profession. I try and steer people away and I won't take my kids up flying because I would rather them get excited about pursuing a career that pays well, and rewards hard work and personal sacrafice.

This delayed gratification career sux!, and it sucks bad, and I speak as a wide body international FO. It would really suk if I flew domestic on a narrow body.
Be very careful what you say. Usmcflyer is monitoring. Also, you may offend people like herc driver. People who are offended when others talk bad about aviation. Apparently WE are the odd balls; not buying into aviation and because WE refuse to put on the rose-colored goggles. If you're not careful with what you say, you will be put off as "too negative". I mean what would YOU know, being a wide-bodied fo and all? Shhhhhhh

One way ticket on United From SFO to New York, was $160 in 1933. Anyone know with inflation what that price would be today?
