Now, under the (new) UAL, we upgrade everyone into BF and the chances of a non-rev getting up front are tougher.
BUT-
We (CAL Side) should never lose out BF crew rest seat due to an Upgrade, once within 24hrs of departure.

Yes, it sucks that the CAL Pilots voted to allow the crew rest seat on the 756 to be moved to couch. I wasn't here (neither were over 1900 pilots) when it was voted on. And Yes, it should have been fixed a long time ago.
But-
There are a few good things about our CBA and probably the best was (is) SCOPE.

Again, not making excuses.. just trying to clarify.

Until we hear something from the crew involved, this is another hearsay story. IE, throw some mud up on the wall (message board) and see if it sticks.

Motch

PS> Noticed the story AND the thread about deleting the story- concerning the missing Medical(!) has been deleted?... hmmmm
How did JP get himself in the position of having everybody talking bad about and spreading bad rumors about him? Must be some truth somewhere!

I'm not trying to start a running debate on CAL scope, but!

Your management never went after scope until the UAL merger came along. Why? They didn't need scope with your work rules. If they thought they needed it or wanted it - they would have gotten it and don't kid yourself CAL would have been just like AA,AW,DL,NW and UA.

Again, I'm not trying to start a long debate, but did CAL draw a line-in-sand and fight for scope in a contract or was it added as an after thought? It is good you have tighter scope in your contract - we can use that as a bases going foward to limit it or it's spread.

From your %&^*&%$ Master Chairman no less! What an arrogant empty suit (without a medical). He has proven time and time again that he is in this for himself and no one else. UFB.

As of this point (as usual) no one has proven anything. Just more allegations and annonymous resources.

While the infighting continues who is flying the plane?

Search Airmen Certificate Information

Look up your own information and compare for accuracy.....airman inquiry is free and public...just need a name...it helps if you use your city and state, for example Sugarland TX, etc. my information is all correct including my last medical date....

Mine too. Also checked multiple friends, all correct. This isn't conjecture.

Who's flying the plane? Guess it depends on perspective. Certainly not Jay Pierce. I'd argue that CAL management owns him. How a management lackey becomes an MEC Chairman defies logic.

I think one can opt out of the public database search.

Why is it these type of issues keep raising their ugly head with Jay Pierce and not Jay Heppner? I'm sure JH has things in his closet many would look at and wonder, but for the most part I would say it is a reflection on the discipline and precision of the two.

In general JH is far more precise and focused than JP and, at least on the surface, more interested in the welfare of his constituents than JP.

The days of the MEC Chair going without medicals and forcing his way into First Class are over.

Oh and I looked up my info at the FAA, spot on. So JP is either a liar or is so used to telling misdirections he doesn't know any better.

The good news is ll this controversy has eliminated any chance of him taking over an office job when his term expires.

For all you pilots making the accusation that Jay P doesn't have a medical- Write him an email and ask.
1) If he doesn't reply, you have ammo that he's avoiding the issue. He can just as easily have a canned email response with the Yes/No answer and send it out to whoever emails him
(years ago, my info on the FAA Website was incorrect. Have a hard time believing that the company would allow him to do his MV/LOE without a medical~)
((I've always believed that EVERY Union Head should maintain some sort of flying schedule. At the end of the day, you're suppose to be a Professional Pilot. Fly a single trip a month...be one! Get out there and see what's going on in the system, meet the crews, promote your chosen profession. Just my opinion))

For those of you concerned about the allegation that he bumped the cockpit crew out of a BF rest seat, write him and ask.
A) Again, if he doesn't reply with a canned email.. is he avoiding the question?
(me, until I get an email letter from the Captain of the flight in question, it's all hearsay!)

As far as the question about why these issues keep raising their ugly head.. simple. Power.
Anytime anyone is in a position of Power, there will be those who sling mud.
The CAL Pilot group has over 4800 pilots currently. There are probably less than 48 pilots who come on these boards and sling mud. That's less than 1% of the pilot group~

Motch

PS> If either accusation is 100% true, I will join the effort to recall JP.
