You just posted Glenn Tilton's tag line quote word for word. When we were told to take massive pay cuts, Glenn told us we needed to take the biggest cuts because we were the leaders of the airline and needed to show by example. Then he gave himself a raise. It's astonishing to me that someone who claims to be a unionist would defend this type of behavior.

Thank you for posting that!
It seems to me that many airline unions would rather live in a socialist society.I could post what pilots make on a flight attendants forum, and they would have the same response. OMG, some of these guys make 200K+ a year, that's insane, we deserve more... If you want pilot pay, then go be one. That is what you do in a capitalist society.
If you want CEO pay, then go be one.

And my disclaimer before the flames hit: five, yes five furloughs (2 from UAL), six jobs in ten years, no family money, no trust fund, just hard work, setting goals and creating, modifying and making the plan happen.
UAL will not take care of you, the Government will not take care of you.
You create your future.
Are you better off now than ten years ago. If not, look in the mirror!
Good on JLo for negotiating a good contract for himself. Now it's OUR turn. If we could just get our "leaders" out of the playground and doing their job!

Does FOX News ever get turned off at your house? The scary part is that you haven't even figured out which side of the war you are on. Look at executive compensation over the last decade vs. average worker pay. The excessive greed is killing our society. See 2008 if you need examples. The problem is that the ultra rich keep writing each other bigger checks. Not because they have earned it, but because they can. There is no check and balance system. And you keep defending them.

I'm a captain at l-cal 14 years. A flight attendent at 14 years longevity can make .5 to .7 of what I make. What makes Jeff et.al worth so much more then our pilot's or FA? I don't make 70 plus times our FA salary . So tell me why ceo's should make 70 times more than captain pay. I have a four year degree, 6 type ratings, and 16000 hours of flight time like a lot of our pilots do. What's that worth?

We have the pay, benefits, etc because of collective bargaining, not individual bargaining. The whole "blame yourself" argument is pure bull$it.

Yes, you are right. Life is not fair. I've been more lucky than good throughout my career, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to fight for what I think is fair. Why don't we get rid of the union and every pilot negotiate their own contract and seniority number. Lets see how well that goes. Unions were created because of the unjust treatment and lack of fairness for the worker. Socialism and Communism is a result of unjust treatment of people. So I'm a believer in responsible capitalism (some fairness). These people you (47 Dog) seem to be defending are the ones that through you out on the street. I'm not saying companies shouldn't have the right to furlough if needed, but UAL flushed. Meanwhile Glenn kept getting his.....
