there needs to be no more bomb dropping by either mec!

There needs to be no more pre-emptive missile strikes by either mec chair.
I disagree. I want to FINALLY see the UAL Master Chairman tell us what Pierce is all about and detail his actions and there effects on the pilot group. I want to hear what the 'minor stipulations' were, and I want to hear any other conditions that Pierce is putting on 'unity'.

Capt Morse, and now Capt Heppner, have been tolerant of Pierce's words and deeds and have not publicly called him out directly. His latest propaganda BEGS for a factual response from Capt Heppner.

I originally supported the kid gloves we were using when dealing with your MC and MEC, but those days ended in late Dec 11. Sometimes a full out fight is required...so be it.

I just re-read JP's statement. It's too late. He already approached the NMB on his own to assure them that they are not on board and will continue with the process that is working so well. Nice.

JP is a real tool - management loves what he's done for them. All I can say if we suffer all suffer and JP is responsible and the CAL people won't get a windfall.

Don't know if it's possible (because of the by-laws, and I don't want to go get them). Can JH attend a CAL LEC meeting that JP attends, and ask JP to get together with EVERYONE (LEC, MEC, JNC, NMB)? This way if JP says YES, NO, or I'll talk to you on the side, then we know where he stands. ??? Maybe??

I don't think so. If you remember JP wanted to speak at the ORD LEC meeting and explain why the UAL pilots should support his efforts at profit sharing just after he cut the leg out from under the UAL MEC. JH said "NO". This could be the problem today - JP's ego getting in the way.
We are all losing money because of JP.

Tongue-n-Cheek......"Touche".

NOT confirmed, but within the last 24 hrs, I've heard that JH has taken the "all inclusive" meeting/briefing (CAL's Entire MEC) off the table as an option? Since the call to my LEC Rep yesterday, I put in another today to confirm this, have not heard a response. Have you heard anything along these lines????.....Or even bothered speaking with YOUR LEC Reps????

If this bodes as true, I put them BOTH in the same "Ego Circus".....BOTH being "POS", and doing so on our dime.

SoCalGuy:

OK here's the scoop and a post from the other private blog:

The meeting won't happen because JP required the UAL MEC to drop its grievance on the PS as a requirement.

from the other blog:
"I asked my rep if a condition of meeting was that we drop our PS grievance. He said that was true and the LUAL MEC said NFW!"

"And there you have it XXXX. Jay Pierce, DEMANDING that the United MEC drop their grievance AGAINST UCH MANAGEMENT, in order to have a joint MEC meeting to help get the JCBA done.

Does anyone need anymore proof that Jay P(os) is doing the bidding and actions for Fred Abbott? Is it a surprise that the United MEC is not sharing details with that management lackey? I really wish the CAL pilots would clean house on their MEC."

Now I don't know how much JP is in the pocket of Abbott but it is clear he was a bit deceptive in his blast mail about the actual inner dealing of his offer for a joint meeting with the UAL MEC.

Would I have demanded the dropping of the PS as a requirement? Only if I wanted to hold up the JCBA or felt it wasn't a priority. Can't say I blame him but he is feeling the consequences of his rouge action to negotiate a special deal foe the pilots "he represents." Remember there is always the "law of unintended consequences" with every move made in this process and sadly $40 mil is chicken feed compared to what we are going to lose.

Now there is another feature I believe the CAL pilots don't fully understand and that is the TPA verses TPA expiration. What am I talking about? The flying ratios.

For some reason many pf the CAL pilots believe when the TPA expires the UCH management will just fold up the UAL side of the house. Not true!

To maintain the RJ agreement UCH will have to either "self-help" and impose a contract or, if negotiations continue, they will have to maintain the ratios contained in the LUAL CBA. This CBA includes wording about who will fly any new jets coming on property in addition to minimum LUAL flying to maintain the RJ side.

While I understand LCAL CBA specifies block hours I believe these numbers will be or are currently easily met. Under the current LUAL CBA all replacement jets and new jets will go largely to the LUAL side of the house, inclusive of RJ flying.

So "fellow" LCAL pilots you will not have windfall advancement should the TPA expire and the negotiations continue without release. And should we get released and self-help is imposed by UCH you can bet your RJ protection is dead and you will wish you had the reserve rules you currently have back. No more 150% pay and soft time credit.

Where is Jay Pierce taking you?

And more from the private blog site:

For those who claim the PS grievence is against the LCAL MEC here are the facts first hand:

"XXXX that is incorrect. I just looked at the grievance and it is against UCH, not the CAL MEC. There is only one grievance filed.

The other issue is a TPA dispute handled in accordance with the TPA dispute procedures. "

There you have it!
