Wow.. for someone who just signed up to APC in April (oh wait, it's still April!) you're pretty opinionated.

How about your MEC follows the rules and if they feel they have a problem with the CAL MEC or CAL Pilots, they take it up to ALPA National. There are procedures to have ALPA take over, if your side feels so strongly about this.

From day one, the UAL Pilots I know all commented on the Comm we have on the CAL Side. I do not know why the Joint MEC hasn't looked at Joint Comms, and that is a good question for ALPA National.

But if you think that the CAL Pilots will allow the UAL pilots (or groups of them) or the UAL MEC to run over us, you are mistaken.
You don't like what we are doing on the CAL Side, bring it up to ALPA National. You don't like the answer you get from them, try to decert.
If you do.. and we end up with separate contracts, you'll just have to look in the mirror to wonder why.

You guys have a history and your leaders are trying to live up to it. Sad you're willing to destroy so much and so many for a leader that will burn and dump you in the end. Good Luck with your Quest.

I have surmised, as a general rule in life, the longer a letter the greater the chance the creator is trying shovel... oops, I mean convince me they have uncontrived wisdom, when usually it is just the opposite.

We will not, however, give the UAL MEC or anyone else a blank check to be written against the CAL pilots’ future. We will continue to honor our commitment to the process agreed to by the MECs, the NMB and management that was designed to reach terms of a deal by mid-June. We will continue our attempts to advance the plan already contemplated for two weeks of expedited negotiations beginning in May."

It is not your way or the highway. When you get that through your head we can do battle with the company.
For the love of God people...READ THIS TRIPE CRITICALLY and ask YOUR Master Chairman the HARD questions!!!!

This release is SO full of holes that it would sink in a second!

THIS IS YOUR CAREER -- STOP STARING AT YOUR SHINY CAL WINGS AND THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE!

I'll even give you the first 2 questions to ask:

- What were the minor stipulations?
- Who will brief the CAL MEC en banc on the strategy?

Lets get a grip here.

We are pretty screwed is about all I can say. Both UAL and CAL pilots are left out in the cold this summer...on the eve of a splendid summer adventure full of junior manning opportunities.

Not enough co-pilots is only part of the problem. Not enough leadership on both sides is the real problem.

We should have it scheduled to have quarterly joint MEC meetings. Why is not written in stone?

Why hasn't both of the elder (senior statesmen) on both MEC's already called some conference calls to get it worked out. It only takes a few big base reps on each side to call for a special MEC meeting. Hello.........Policy manual anyone.......Bueller??????????? Buelller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the CAL and UAL MEC reps should have called for a special meeting within about 1 hour of that last POS blastmail.

Where is Lee Moak in all of this????? What is National doing?

What is National's role here?????

OMG.............we truly sukk. Do we need to go apply to Air China or something? This career is just about done.

Thank you ALPA for messing up this bad dream that I've been having the last 10 years. Now, it is officially a nightmare.

We're gonna need to recall the entire CAL MEC and replace them if they allow this sort of silliness. This is downright embarassing.

They better NUTT up, or prepare to be neutred themselves.

JP is not the main problem. It's the weak leadership we CAL pilots have elected that is the root of this problem. We've got weakness (MEC reps) leading our spokesperson (MEC Chair).

I need a beer (several).

Duuuude...

That is incorrect. If they don't like it they can't go to National. Please show me where in the CBL, or any policy manual where that is written??

Too late for Decert, way too late. That can be discussed later. Right now we've got a big fight and two threats. Dysfunctional Joint Negotiating process, and a balls to the wall/squeeze your nuts UCH management.

Keep in mind that we are negotiating against ourselves. Muir, Stivala, Jackson Martin, et al all work against us now. Keep in mind his minions (buddies) are still involved in the process. PBS Committee (schnur, et al), R/I Committee (Earnst) all carry the companies water.

They CAN request that National place CAL ALPA into receivership.

No they can't. They have no standing to do so.

With that in mind, this past weekend I also sent Capt. Heppner suggested dates in May for a joint meeting of the MECs. To address our legal concerns with the UAL MEC’s TPA grievance over our participation in 2011 profit sharing, I additionally included some minor stipulations for the meeting.

Does JP mean a joint MEC meeting like the one he pulled out of last month??
