As for MEC antics you all shouldn't throw stones with the flight pay loss scandal, recalls of reps, your MC helping the company investigate pilots and the list goes on and on.
One question. Why is it that Jay Pierce has refused to sign the same letter that DAL and NWA MCs signed so as to maximize pay rates when the UAL-MEC Chairman offered to several times.

This will confirm our agreement regarding the use of certain discussions, proposals and/or agreements occurring during negotiations for a joint collective bargaining agreement between Delta Air Lines and ALPA covering the combined Delta and Northwest pilot groups and preparation for such negotiations.
The Delta and Northwest MECs and their respective representatives agree that any discussions, written or oral proposals or agreements, or other communications of any kind (including any documents, exhibits and data) between or among Delta, ALPA, the Delta MEC and the NWA MEC and their representatives, employees or counsel regarding pay rates on any aircraft type shall not be used nor in any way referred to either directly or indirectly in any seniority list integration negotiation, mediation or arbitration proceeding between the pilot groups for the purpose of attempting to demonstrate that one or more aircraft type(s) should be considered or not considered the substantial equivalent of any other aircraft type(s).
Please indicate your concurrence by signing below.
Sincerely,

While rUAL pilots may not agree with the Wendy/ Gary crowd, they agree with the general message being put out by many of our leaders. Capt Pierce has crossed the line. He got you PS but he sold you for it at the expense of a JCBA. Jeff now expects CAL pilots walking in lock step with Pierce, Abbot and him as he extends a CAL contract that came out the early 80's. The rUAL crowd is going to keep ......ing on that parade.
Any TA may get by the MECs but it's the pilot group who will decide the fate. I have no problem voting "no" if it doesn't meet my expectations. I'm not bought off that easily.

This has nothing to do with the JCBA. It's really just a great illustration of just how d*&^ effective the airline, (former CAL mgt.), is at diffusing specific points of confrontation with the pilots. Feb. 14th would have been a very tough day operationally, It's doubtable one single L-CAL pilot would have made it to work that day. For a mere $45M the airline doesn't have to check the pilot's resolve. Now there is no single date on the calendar for the foreseeable future that pilots of either lineage can point to as a line in the sand.
The real unmentionable here, is how much L-UAL pilots can't stand the thought of higher W2s at CAL (as a result of the CAL/Pierce PS deal) because it may come into play when we talk about how earnings pertain to career expectations and how that impacts seniority integration. I plan to spend most of my PS check toasting the anger of L-UAL pilots. This has nothing to do with unity nor integrity.

How many L-UAL pilot were willing to fight over the fact that L-CAL pilots lost 767's?

Guess you don't have any time for all the RJ pilots who stole your flying either, do you? Maybe you guys need to start focusing on IMPORTANT things like keeping your flying instead of puffing your chests as things are taken away from you.................... BTW............I guess we were supposed to let the 767-200's disappear with nothing in return (apparently a UAL negotiating tactic), but at least our MEC DID get us something in return. Yep, I think he did just fine.................

Yes....I'm willing to fight for you guys over the 767s. Unfortunately, Jay took that opportunity away.

As far as fighting for your 767-200's... We will get to that as soon as we figure out how many 757's and 400's they are parking. Latest count is around 4, and I hear about 15 more to go.

No offense but you didn't have a bankruptcy judge holding a shotgun to your head with your hands tied behind your back when the 767s were parked.

I bet most wish they'd walked off the property at this point. They've taken a marvelous airline circa 2000 and used Sept 11/ fuel/ 787/ blah blah blah as a tool to continue cranking down on the labor. If the bankruptcy judge does that, leave. That's what we have to be willing to do if we are going to get a good contract.
