I am going to bold and highlight this sentence: THE CAL PROFIT SHARING PLAN IS NOT THE SAME PLAN AS THE UAL PLAN The CAL plan provides FAR less in terms of dollars, my check last year was $3700 gross.

NO WE DIDN'T!!!!!!

The L-UAL got exactly JACK SCHITT!!!! There was no extension of ANY TPA provisions on the UAL side. NONE!!

A total side deal by Pierce....

As soon as Dexim figures out where/what Guam is, I'm sure we'll be right back on point.

New Years Day....some people are moving slow.

I assume the PS for the CAL is based on the same percentage of income as the UAL side this time unlike last year. Is this true or did I not read something different.

Speaking of moving slow, I hope we have a slow work week to start the new year.

Has anyone thought to recommend to the UALMEC to divy up the profit sharing the same way the Bond Allocation was. We have a lot of pilots retiring starting later THIS YEAR(hurray!) and they deserve the lion share. Come on now, who is with me on this?

Really??

From YOUR Chairperson

Late this week, the company rejected our counter and stated: “Please be advised that even with your rejection of our TPA extension proposal, we have no current intention of terminating the no-furlough and ratio protections in the TPA.”

So do you have furlough and block hour protection or not?

All valid points. I certainly agree that it wasn't worth negotiating anything for profit sharing. But it wasn't up to me and what we negotiated away (the 767 sale grievance) was something that was a provision in our contract. Frankly, I think our crappy little profit sharing check is worth far less than what L-UAL could have gained; no-furlough and block hour ratio protection. Certainly nothing to sneer at. Maybe you disagree, but as it stands you're going to get them anyway and somehow I don't imagine the CAL MEC will be filing any lawsuits. And no, I don't think profit sharing is necessarily a violation of the status quo. As I've stated before on another thread, most of the employee groups at L-CAL that will receive PS aren't even unionized let alone working under a CBA. So if the company wants to give profit sharing to any particular work group I think it will be very difficult to appeal. Does that make it right? Not 100% sure, but I certainly don't think it's right that we should be the only employee group at UAL not to be included in profit sharing.
