CAL has just negotiated a side deal which unbalances the neutral set point. We got our pidly one-time $5,000. Now, I wish the UAL pilots the best of luck in getting their own side deal of CAL payrates, worth an average of $23,000/yr ongoing year after year unil the JCBA.

While UAL pilots are enjoying their $2,000/mo increase in pay, the CAL pilots will be in this exact same position next year, begging to not be the only ones left out of 2012 profit sharing, while UAL pilots enjoy not only their profit sharing, guaranteed and unending in their CBA, but ALSO their $23,000 pay raise this year and every year.

I want to make it clear that I'm not bitter in any way about belonging to such a pathetic pilot group. So dependable to always be on the bottom and, even now at the dawn of bright and hopeful 2012, ensuring that we will never rise above our meager and measly past.
I missed that part of the update.

Even IF it were true, I don't get the math... I guess a 767FO at CAL makes ~25% more than me??? Doesn't matter, it's all BS anyway. Check six -- you never know who's maneuvering for guns.

This was the nexus, the crossroads, the wrinkle in the time-space continuum, to get this pilot group engaged. Feb 14, 2012, a day that could have lived in famy, when the sedentary and clueless pilot group could have realized how much we've been had.

Instead we've been given the opiate of ten days worth of pay to return us to our lethargic and apathetic stasis, woozy and unaware of the hundreds of thousands of dollars retained at our expense by those who live in their castles, their estates, their châteaus, and their mansions.

From a UAL pilot perspective, I wonder what they expect to get from the CAL pilot group in return for this payment. The more wary side of me thinks that Pierce has already cut a deal in private. Your leadership has created the environment of distrust we are about to live in for the remainder of this merger. No offense to you personally, but I don't trust your leadership one IOTA at this point. They have chosen their (and your) position by their actions.
All good points and agree there's nothing free...and that goes for both MECs. As far as trust, It depends upon where you sit...can tell you that many CAL pilots believe your leadership has done likewise and not trustworthy. I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle and neither MEC is clean and is guilty of playing pilot groups against each other..That said, you are right about something in return. Time and the what will be evidenced in the coming months. We just need to be ready to vote NO, if it doesnt meet SCOPE, work rules, compensation and retirement. Any increase in outsourcing is a NO vote for me, so thats where i see our ability to halt the presses (our vote). We have a MEC townhall meeting, next week so expect a lively and heated debate with PIerce and rest of MEC

If the UAL m/c negotiates a side deal outside of the TPA for 10s of millions of dollars in additonal compensation for UAL pilots only, will that be side stepping the CAL MEC??? Is that ok with you??? or would you be a little suspicious and ticked?? Just asking. I hope there is some form of deal with the UAL MEC. If not, a DFR lawsuit could be in order. We shall see.

Well you should be used to it by now as your group has been this way for a long time now.

You never get used to it. Yesterday my hope was that it would not turn out this way. Such a small amount of money to forego and the chance for a much larger payoff--some pilot unity, a quicker JCBA and a quite large retro check. Now my hope is that UAL negotiates their own side deal, the bigger the better, for the same reason.

It's now evident that Pierce has no problem with violation of the status quo; an important element in our quest for a JCBA. Now we have a two-front war.

It's now evident UAL has plans to further encroach our domiciles with B737s. First LAX, now DEN and ORD. Right sizing indeed! At the expense of myself and 1436 brothers and sisters.

HEY ISL ARBITRATOR....YOU LISTNING?

Yes I know it is not all but think I am done here, everyone can go jrm, srm, left seat fly right seat, lca,s can do 120 a month as of now I don't care anymore as it looks like this group is basically every man for himself. Fly my trip go home, too many years watching this. With the additions of many of the cal it just is not worth it anymore. This fight is over.
