I agree but they do have an intrinsic value of some sort. I guess that's up to your MEC to decide but again, the JCBA is a separate issue and the pay rate comparison is apples and oranges.
Sure it might get some of the people on this property to wake up and yes I think it will take more particularly on the cal side.

Thanks and I agree wholeheartedly. Screw the profit sharing and go ahead and sunset the 4 clauses. Maybe it will be enough to get this apathetic bunch of Pilots to collectively get off of their asses and do something.

I started this thread hoping from the rumors I had heard we as a pilot group would actually move forward towards more pay, better work rules and a bit of solidarity. Boy was I wrong.

I read stuff like this
, "Screw the profit sharing and go ahead and sunset the 4 clauses. Maybe it will be enough to get this apathetic bunch of Pilots to collectively get off of their asses and do something. " and I want to say we're doomed!

Doomed points:

1. Get off their "asses" and do what? It's not just LUAL who are strapped by the court order it is legally ALPA. What, fly the contract? I don't see much waving of anything on the LUAL side.

2. The collective MECs have to think as one and use ANY opportunity to incentify (Pete MacDonald's term) management to move on the negotiations. You see there is little to no economic reason for the JCBA to actually be accomplished.

Oh well my years here are waning and I am senior so I guess I shouldn't care... but I do.

Ladies and Gentlemen it's time to think as one and should the Management turn down the proposals from the two MECs don't expect any changes until 2013 at the earliest. Of course if you are chomping on the bit to get to ORD or DEN then it is really all about you, isn't it.

Yeah the poster who said this thread should be closed was right.

Maybe your right but maybe you should look closer at ual and until are lca's quit flying 110-120 per month with 40 in the bank then I will start thinking we are headed in the right direction. Not to mention the sa people that are doing it for their schedules and as far as waiving, it has slowed down but still see too much when it benefits that individual pilot. From what I read hear sound s worse on the cal side when I hear about captains flying right seat and much junior manning.

What?? the number of guys I have flown with who have ZERO knowledge of what is going on is abysmal. Furthermore, they tend to do stuff willingly and without any cognitive thought which just pushes the JCBA further and further away. It makes me want to puke.

It's not JUST waiving the contract, its ignorantly not knowing what's in it, its carrying crap, its CH9, its the parking brake, its not walking when a hotel isn't in compliance, its waiting for the van, its eating pasta for breakfast three days in a row, its not following the FOM or the FM to the letter, its, its, its, its sickening! WTFU people!

The forum is full of chest beaters who at least make an effort to stay informed and engaged. For that I am grateful. But many of the guys I fly with are weak kneed and emasculated Casper Milquetoasts.

Hell I flew with an operation orange dude who might as well have shined Jeffs boots every day before we flew. Talk about Stockholm Syndrome!

Happy Holidays to ALL the UCAL line pukes on the forum. Unfortunately I think we need to lift double and drag the Caspers along with us. Just say no indeed.

Just because you may be the FO doesn't make you the captains Beeeoooooccchhh. You have a brain too. You don't have to waive anything Don't hang around Ops on sits because the pseudo flight managers may track you down if the crew desk is looking for you. ACARS messages from crew desk are not adequate notification You dont have to answer your phone on layovers or sits. If the captain is ok with a deferred APU, you don't have to accept it. He is free to find another FO if he wants. If you are upset about pasta again just tell the captain you are going to find edible food before you fly and not on the next sit. You are the one doing the walk around so find things that need to be addressed by TOMC. You are required to report ALL defects. Don't miss any. Don't let the captain rush you when taxiing out. It is your butt if you over look something. You can insist on not having channel 9 on especially if you are the one talking on the radio. The last thing I want is to hear my voice on a YouTube posting. Why not do all flight planning from flight ops instead of via ACARS. The ways to make the minutes add up legally are endless. Remember it is not your job to make sure anyone else is doing theirs. No jet bridge driver or marshaller? No problem. They will show up eventually. Management has all the answers so I have faith they will realize that the pawns are not in position at some point.

Just don't do anything that violates the injunction
