From the original RJ giveaway to C2000 to Paul Whiteford to the Bond distribution I'd say the UAL MEC is batting 1,000 on that score.

If I was at UAL or CAL I would be really ****ed that ALPA has this so screwed up..

ALL the JCBA and SLI Issues with the Pilot's getting a Percentage of the company equity should have been in place BEFORE the SOC with the FAA was allowed to move forward.

You Ladies now have lost all of your leverage, ****ed away...

Don't you feel like sucker's working under your POS BK contract for years on end, like a bunch of chumps, while your management is laughing their ****** off while enriching themselves

Valuejet Scabs will soon be making twice what you are.. flying smaller jet's with ALPA patting them on the back...

If Wendy can't get the job done get someone in there who can, She has failed so far....... I would get someone with **** next time......

Well that's why there is so much fighting within the MEC. Everyone knows its been a miserable failure and the blame game is on.

You are off base with one thing though, the SOC isn't our point of leverage. It was DOJ approval. We should have been CAMPED in the DOJ office in my opinion, but the Legislative Committe was instructed not to bother them. Management was actively engaged with ALPA and making great headway.... Until the day the DOJ approved the merger. Management knew they had won when that day came and we had secured exactly nothing.

Regardless, You Ladies got **** without getting Paid............

But you keep moving the Jet's for free like a bunch of Sucker's

Management must be laughing Their mules off about how much they are making off you dumb mules working for free.....

BTW. with cost of living increases and a 10 year plus old BK POS agreement you are not even making the same pennies you made in 2002....

Hopefully, ALPA can pull off a miracle and get it together.

Keep up the good work

Well, this discussion should have been kept in-house on the UAL forum, but since it's out there.... many of us at UAL are ****ed at the MEC because of the opportunities that have been lost since the merger was announced. But lost they have been, and now the real issue is why those opportunities were lost. IMO, Wendy was not the right person for the job. She may be smart and experienced in MEC politics, but that does not make her a good leader. She began her tenure with the idea that a more conciliatory, engagement based approach would get us a new contract faster (like the Delta/NWA JCBA). The problem with that kind of thinking is that it was very naive to believe it would work with UCH management. Just look at the names at the top of the org. chart: Tilton, Smisek, McDonald, Abbott. Her "be nice" approach just emboldened their resolve to continue to screw us.

From day 1 of this merger, she should have been telling management, the media, and the pilots that the only way the merger would work would be if the pilots were brought on board early with an equity stake and a robust TPA that protected all UAL pilots interests until the merger was complete. Instead, she was talking about s-curves and synergies, as if she was wearing her BOD hat. The results show that was a failure, another year and a half of our careers spent treading water.

IMO, the video she just released was a self-serving hack job. Because 7 of the MEC members vehemently oppose the course taken by Wendy and her 8 supporters (who, BTW, do not represent a majority of the pilots) does not make those 7 "clowns", or any of the other pejoratives used by her "camp". There is an honest difference of opinion on how to do business WRT management, and they are not going to just roll over and say whatever. Too damn much at stake.

The next MC must have the leadership skills to unify a large majority of the pilot group, and the intelligence and courage to use all available means to get the JCBA we want. And the pilots have to be willing to follow.

I don't think I have ever seen a Pilot group so neutered before...

This Broke ** Pilot group were also largely behind pushing for age 65 because they don't have enough cash left to retire...Soon to be the old guy's driving the airport hotel van near you... AKA The new ALPA retirement plan.....

I was amazed that Wendy got into office in the first place she help write the POS contract their pilots are working under now......

Like I said, time to get someone with some *** in office, literally
