As an outsider, let me get this straight. Management wants to take the worse of both contracts? United's scope, Cal's work rules, etc.

It's a very clear play to try to turn just enough pilots against ALPA.
They believe this is possible because they are still getting on time zero departures,
JRM volunteers, people accepting 2hr. callouts on reserve and people picking up open time and covering the schedule.
All to help the mgmt. team that created a faux bankruptcy to legally steal our retirements and livelihoods.
We have no one to blame but ourselves until we start pushing back, plain and simple. Wendy and Jay can't do that for us.
Actions, not words.

Recently, ALPA distributed a communication mischaracterizing management’s motivation in proposing to ALPA’s leadership an alternative process for concluding joint contract negotiations promptly. While the Company’s motivation for the proposal should be obvious, as the proposal was a creative means to conclude an agreement promptly, we believe the correspondence speaks for itself and belies the deliberate mischaracterization of it by ALPA leaders. We have posted the letters United sent to Captain Morse and Captain Pierce below.

Just something I noticed....

Is it me, or does Mike Bonds signature get progressively 'more' angry from the first letter to the next???

I know....Flare for the obvious.

The whole purpose of this exercise was for the company to be able to make the statement, "your response to the company's proposal clearly removes your ability to claim it is managements's actions that are delaying an agreement" for their BOD audience.

They've achieved their goal and they're moving on to the next TBD tactic.

One is an actual hand written on paper signature and the other is signed using a hand writing software program.

Yeah, but even the presidential "auto-pen" thing still looks like the signature.

Bad software then?
