Drug Test?
So does CAL have mandatory drug testing? You'd have to be methed out to even contemplate accepting these work rules. I think Mesa's work rules are better...no wonder the "Man" is dragging his feet with this contract.

Thanks for the responses. Wondering a couple of other things. The offer letter does not specify what the cost is for our share of medical, dental and vision. Also, does CO pay for any portion of disability insurance, or do we pay for it? If so, how much does it run?
Also, what is the minimum guarantee for lineholders? (when/if that time comes.). And how ugly is it for mixed lineholders (UAL doesn't have that btw) and bottom lineholders?
Thanks

I only carry medical and dental as the vision insurance is a joke. For a once a year visit I'll just pay out of pocket. Some people use that Health Savings/Spending Account for that.
There are a few set options for medical plans and then we also have a build your own option with different deductibles, co-insurance, and prescription drug options. So various combinations will yield different monthly premiums.
To give you an example, my medical premium each month (paycheck on the 16th-ish) is $90. I have the Aetna build-your-own option with these selections (for an individual): $1000 deductible, $2000 out-of-pocket maximum, 80% co-insurance, $15 office visit/$50 specialist, prescriptions of $5/$25/$50. Depending on what selections you opt for this monthly premium could be more or less.
My Cigna dental is $19.10 per month.
I think vision runs $17-20/month if you select that.
Disability insurance is entirely pilot funded. There will be a set monthly rate for LOL/LTD insurance. In March, our premium actually went down about 17% or so from what it was at the start of the year. I believe this had to do with a return on investments or increases in the plan balance. I am not sure what the premium rate is for the LOL/LTD plan, but the benefit is 50% of yearly income tax-free until age 65. Based on the numbers on my benefits statement and payroll advice, my premium each month equates to just slightly more than 1 hour of pay each month.
NOTE: OUR LOL/LTD PLAN IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET INTO IF YOU OPT OUT OR DON'T ENROLL WHEN YOU ARE FIRST ELIGIBLE TO SIGN UP FOR IT. EVIDENCE OF INSURABILITY REQUIREMENTS ARE STRICT AND PILOTS HAVE BEEN DENIED ENTRY INTO THE PROGRAM LATER. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST OPTING OUT OF THE LOL/LTD PROGRAM SHOULD YOU COME TO CONTINENTAL.
Lineholder guarantee is 72 hours. Reserve guarantee is 72 hours for long-call (A reserve) or 76 hours for short-call (B reserve).
Mixed lines, if they are awarded, I don't think are awful. They can only give you a maximum of 5 days of reserve on a mixed line. So if PBS can only put together trips that leave you short of the build parameters, it could give you a stretch of reserve at one point in the month to get you up to the build range requirements. However, you do have to request a mixed line, it is not automatic.
PBS does not honor seniority above or below the G-line. The only thing is that if everyone above the G-line only bids for lines (no reserve choices) the system must build lines to the guy promised (G-line). It cannot be consistently said that the junior lineholders are going to be stuck with garbage trips all the time.
